How long should I wait?

by chevrolet1, Oct 05, 2008 07:04PM
I just had a miscarriage 2 days ago and me and my husband want to keep trying. My periods are usually are
months apart and have no idea if I'm going to have a hard time getting pregnant again. I was prescribed estogen
pills to bring on my period to help get pregnant the first time and scared to take them again incase they contributed
to my miscarrage (miscarriage). How long do you think I should wait before I can have a healthy pregnancy and how can I know when is the right time of the month to conceive with out having a reg period? PLEASE HELP!

My doctor told me to wait 2 cycles, but he said it was more for emotional healing than anything else.  When I went back for my follow-up, his partner said for health reasons to wait at least one cycle.  We are currently ttc again, and hopeful we will get a bfp this month.  BTW the miscarriage forum has some awesome ladies that are in the same boat and amazingly supportive.  Feel free to stop by there too for more help.  Good luck, and I am sorry for your loss.

I would talk to my dr about it.  But the odds of mc right after having a mc is much higher.  I was told that by 3 drs.  I was told to wait at least 6 months.  Talk to your dr.

Im sorry for your loss,Hi i mc 5 weeks ago,for the 2nd time, and currently pregnant again,we were very surprised, the odds of mc again are the same as any other pregnancy, the risk isnt higher.the doctors advise you to wait, due to dateing reasons,as long as you are emotionally ready then its fine.you will find you will get your period within 4-6 weeks.most womens cycle go straight back to normal.i mc at 10 weeks, and ovulated on schedule 2 weeks later.but every women is different.i did use ov tests after the bleeding stopped, but had false positives,it was only because i was bbt charting i new i ovulated.i wish you the best of luck...

How far along were you?  I had a chemical pregnancy in December, and my doctor told me to wait one cycle and try again.  I followed his advice, and got pregnant in February after waiting just one month.  I am about 35 weeks along and I have had a perfect pregnancy so don't be discouraged.  Did your Dr. imply that the estrogen could have caused the miscarriage?  You might need it to actually get pregnant.  The important thing is to discuss all of your concerns with your doctor, and follow their recommendations.

I to have suffered MC two in fact heartbreaking and we were like you and wanted to try again straight away and i would say go for it as long as you feel phsically and mentally ready to. We strarted trying straight away even though my doctor said that it would be best to have a cycle first but thats normally so they can work out your due date more accurately and so your body has time to adjust and get back to normal. I lost my 2nd in May and my periods have been all over the place since my cycle is very irregular now so we are finding it harder to conceive this time where as after the first mc my cycle didnt change at all. They say that having a mc is like a period and that you can be fertile after a mc.
Did you have a complete mc?
