OMG I gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks. Before I got pregnant I was 142 pounds now I am just 15 weeks and I am already 167 pounds. I feel so bad and I feel like crying
I'm 19 weeks with my twins and I've gained 3 lbs so far...but my Dr's don't seem worried they said the babies are getting the food first and I just get what's left so long as they are healthy I'm not to worried either.
I'm 29 weeks and have gained between 20-25 lbs. I go for the official count today. :)
If you are eating pretty healthy and your doctor doesn't seem concerned, it's probably okay. If you have suddenly gained a bunch, like 5 lbs in one week without eating more than usual, your doctor would probably want to know about it.
it is normal to gain faster when you passed 1st trimester. i am 5'4, started off with 108 and now 18 weeks and have gained 7 pounds so far and started to put 1 pound each week now..! if you are worried. ask ur doc, they will be able to guide you on how much you should gain.
My daughter is 11 months now but when I was pregnant with her I gained 64 lbs. :( She was a big girl though, 9 lbs. 2 oz. and was 2 weeks early|. I also had alot of swelling
I am 36 wks 2 days and so far I've gained 26 pounds. I am pretty tall and started off at 174....I just hit 200 pounds!! Oh my goodness...I hate saying that! lol. But it doesn't even look like I've gained THAT much. My midwife said not to focus so much on the weight gain, everyone is different, and just to eat healthy. She said she would rather see me gain 50 pounds on health food than on junk food!! Good luck!!
Its all in what you are eating! If you are eating healthy foods and staying away from fast food then I would not worry to much! But if its fast food or junk food than you should change the foods you are eating.... With my 1st I gained 64 lbs and she only weighed 7lbs 7oz. I ate fast food and junk everyday! I did a little better with my 2nd only gained 51lbs...... This time I am 17wks 4days and have only gained 2lbs so far! I am completely amazed on that one But I have been eating much better this time! Good Luck to you!
I'm 16weeks tomorrow, and have gained maybe 3-4 lbs. But I had all day sickness for 2 months, and now I get full so easily. I made a little sandwich out of a english muffin today and am full already! BUT don't feel bad, I started out at 174-176 I'm now 179.
I'm supposed to get to at least 205lbs. So don't feel bad. K?
I am only 19 weeks and have already gained 14 lbs :-( Started out 107 and now 121.....I have been eating the heathiest thing either but I feel like I am hungry all the time. I gained 28 with my first so I hope I don't gain more than 30 this time.
I am 27wks and i have lost 1st 11lb upto now due to the morning sickness i am still having, but my little girl is very healthy she is taking all the goodness from me
I think I win this one!!! THere had better be prizes!!! I started at 138 and now I am at 188!!! Yes, 50 LBS!!!! but my sister did the same thing and now is smaller than she was before she got pg.!!! I think she is 120 now..... so I think it just runs in the family
I lost a lb in my first trimester. 15 weeks now and still havent gained any weight.. I'm a little concerned cuz I'm 5'10" and weight 139 before pregnant now 138.. NO I'M NOT DIETING
LOL i am amused to read how you guys are freaking out as my weight before pregnancy was 118.99 lbs im now just about 28 weeks and i weigh 167.99 lbs so i have gained 49 lbs in english terms i was 8 and a half stone and now im a whopping 12 stone!!! But im not gonna panic
just go with the flow guys if ur active enough and get plenty of exercise after birth plus breast feed the weight will drop off so its not a majour biggie!!
I think I am the record breaker,,, I am only 14 week and have already gained 8 kg (about 17lbs)... so all this in just 3 months.. I am now really trying to cut
i started at 115lbs and now at 18 weeks am at 122.5. i have been working out 5 days a week and was actually concerned that i wasn't big enough! i've been eatting well and even thru my first trimester of morning sickness, i was able to put on 3lbs. my mother gives me a hard time because she thinks i should be heavier, but my doctor seems happy with my gradual weight gain. just as one of the girls above said, your doctor will talk to you if he feels there is an issue. you are not far behind me in your pregnancy and we seem to be on the same weight gain. i think you are fine :-) have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
It's nice to see what everybody else is gaining (b/c I have no concept of what "normal" weight gain would be). I'm 18 weeks and I've gained about 7 lbs (started out at 130... now I'm around 137).
you are right where i am as far as weeks and weight gain. i looked it up in my book and i said that right now, a healthy avg is 5-10lbs weight gain. we are right in the middle of that so it sounds like we are doing great! of course, i have heard that if you start out lighter, they want you to gain more and if you are heavier, they want you to gain less, but as far as what my book says, we are on track! when is your due date? i am sept 5.
I noticed that... right around the same weight gain and weeks. One big difference being that it sounds like you're working out about 5 times more than I am ... lol... I like to go for walks with husband and dog, but other than that, I haven't had that spurt of energy yet. That's good to know that we're both right in that 5-10 lb range. My doctor made a point at my 10 week appointment to say that "it is important that I gain weight... they'll be checking my weight at every monthly visit, so if for some reason I'm gaining weight too quickly, then they'll let me know and I'll just back off the donuts." I figure if I continue to eat healthy, then whatever I gain should be considered healthy. Oh, and I'm due September 3rd (give or take... the due date is based solely on the size of the wee-one... we had no LMP to compare to since I had a m/c right before this pregnancy). Looks like we'll both be due right around the same time.
how exciting! have you learned if baby is a boy or a girl? we find out on wednesday. i can hardly wait!!! i'm sorry to hear about your m/c. i'm glad that this pregnancy is going well :-)
Oh, I'm very jealous you get to find out the gender this week! I actually have a doctor's appointment Wednesday too, but they're just doing the routine monthly check-up (weight, blood pressure, and babies heartrate). I really thought I'd be finding out at that appt since it's typical to find out in the 18-20 week stage, but at my last visit they told me they prefer to wait until you're 20 weeks... so I have to wait another 2 weeks until I can find out. I'm not patient.. it's been 8 weeks since I've seen the baby in an ultrasound, so I'm very anxious to see how everything is going (as well as the gender, of course). The m/c was so hard, but we were just so lucky to get pregnant right after.
So... are you hoping for a boy or a girl (or don't you care one way or another)? You'll have to let us all know when you find out.
I went to the doc today. The most I had gained was 7lbs. But Ive lost, which brings it to total of 4 1/2 lbs at 36 weeks :( But doc said said baby is on small side but nothing to worry about.
I'm 36w4d and have only gained 6 lbs to date. My dr's not worried about it at all. I eat really healthy and drink tons of water throughout the day. I think the fact that I have gestational diabetes and am not allowed sodas/candy/junk food has really contributed to the minimal weight gain. If your dr's not concerned, you shouldn't be either. Congrats mommy, you're almost there! :)
Oh don't feel bad. This is my third pregnancy and I am 26 weeks. I weighed 130 before and I know weigh 164. It is stressing sometimes but I know I will get the weight off after the baby is born. Good luck to you
I gained 75 lbs during my first pregnany with the 2nd that ended in miscarraige (miscarriage) i went from 104 to 116 in the first month but had a miscarraige (miscarriage) in april. For some reason i am still gaining alot of weight. your body is changing. Every pregnancy is diffrent some gain weight and some barley gain 10 lbs. YOUR NOT FAT I have had other pregnant women talk about how HUGE i was so i know how it feels.
Your body will gain what it needs to gain. If you started out thinner / underweight (like me) then you may be more likely to gain more (then up to 18 kgs is usually OK). I mean I'm all belly and I've gained 26 pounds (I'm exactly 35 weeks today) and I was told that my little one will be a big girl (actually my Obstet. told me she was 'overweight' with my last comprehensive scan at 31 weeks, nice!!!!). I'm not bothered, I'm gathering I will gain a maximum of 15 kgs in the end and I have a fast metabolism so I'm not too worried about it. Both of my sisters lost all their baby weight within 2 months and we are all petite and don't forget breastfeeding on demand helps in shedding those baby pounds away.
You are doing just fine. Every woman is different. I have always been in good shape and have maintained my weight between 125-135. My first pregnancy I gained 55 pounds and lost it all in three months after she was born. This pregnancy, so far at 27 weeks I have gained 30 pounds. And no I don't eat twinkies and fast food, (ok maybe the occasional ice cream indulgence:) but anyhow, don't stress. It will come off after ithe baby is born if you are use to working out.
i'm 27 wks and i've only gained 8 lbs. i never gained any weight until 25wks. then, BAMM, 4 lbs a week. it was weird cause my belly grew but never gained anything. now i'm gaining weight but my belly isn't getting any bigger. personally i think the holiday's are about to take toll. lol
I'm 20 weeks, I started out at 208, got down to 197 due to hyper emesis, and now I have put on 1lb per week for 3 wks and am at 200. Since I am already over weight my goal is to eat healthy and exercise and keep my weight below 215
I am at 21 weeks and have gained 10. I am not stressing about this, since during my last pregnancy I gained 65! I lost 50 of it without trying. So I think 10 half way through is really good.
I'm 23, almost 24 weeks and I've gained 10-11 lbs so far. I'm pretty happy with that, and I'd love to keep the weight gain total to 25-35 lbs throughout the entire pregnancy. So far so good!
With my daughter I gained 38lbs in total and I'm hoping I don't gain that much this time. I'm pretty teeny though, so its not so bad; I lost 25lbs immediately following labour last time and the rest came off relatively easy, I think in large part thanks to breastfeeding. I am hoping it will do so this time too -- I am ten years older this time 'round!
