I am just wondering how often a 7 week should smile. I am getting concerned because my 7 week old rarely smiles. She smiles every once in awhile, but not regularly or often. I know that babies develop at different rates, but I keep hearing
hmm, sorry i'm not definite about it but i think that's early to expect so much. i've 3 boys and i'm sure it was around 3 months before they were regularly cooing and smiling. and they're all fine, bright lads now. if you still feel worried though, talk to your health visitor...that's what she's there for.
My son didnt start smiling regularly until around 8-10 weeks. He started cooing around then too. He's now 18 weeks and for the past couple weeks has made all kinds of noises, coos, giggles, squeals...and smiles ALL the time, even at certain toys! Around 3 months, most babies get a lot more social and "talkative". Mine did for sure. Your DD will start filling the house with all kinds of noise before you know it! :)
I'm not sure, but if you are concerned, you could always ask your pediatrician. No offense to anyone on medhelp, but your pediatrician would probably be more qualified to answer this question and put your mind at ease.
