Hypothyroid during pregnancy

Hypothyroid during pregnancy

Hi

I am 7weeks 2 days pregnant. my Tsh was normal before pregnancy but after pregnancy first week it was 11 doctor put me on 25mg levothyroxine, next week TSH was 8.5 then doctor increased the dose to 50mg then TSH 6.5 then 4.5 then again increased to 6.5 now she recommended to take 75mcg.

I am scared because my TSH is not on the normal range I am reading on the internet that it might affect the fetal development and affect the baby IQ level.

I dont know how my TSH levels are going to affect the baby.

Please I need your advice

I am going through this right now. However I I developed a thyroid problem (under-active) before I got pregnant. It is really important you see your doctor regularly and get blood work done to check your levels too. Make sure you take your medication everyday and take it on an empty stomach. Has your doctor mentioned you seeing a endocrinologist? I have to see him every month and he specialized in thyroid problems especially during pregnancy. I am sure you will be fine jus make sure you take your medication and follow up with you doctor. Also express any concerns you have with your doctor too.
