I Want My Mind Put To Rest, But My Doctor ISNT Helping Me!

As you all know I am currently pregnant AND I had bleeding 3 weeks ago WITH NO CRAMPS AT ALL WITH THE BLEEDING!!!!!. I am still pregnant and stuff and have taken a test every week since I was bleeding to make sure but they are getting faint.. I know a positive result is still positive No matter how faint or strong it is.
Basically what Im worried about is having my scan EVENTUALLY.... (They wont scan me yet untill im 12 weeks) and finding out their is NO heartbeat, My midwife says this is rare for this to happen. But I know it does happen...
If the heart has stopped and stuff, Would I still be getting all the symptoms and sickness and everything like I currently am now? Or would they have stopped... Because I know after 3 weeks the hormones will go out of your body and you have a complete Negative test.. and No Symptoms.

My question is like I already said.... if it has stopped and passed away but still there would my symptoms stop? And Have Neg pregnancy tests? And not being able to eat certain foods still and being sick at certain smells and the usual things really. Needing the loo like every 3 seconds it feels like. And the usual slight cramps you get like its growing and things... Or would they have just STOPPED, END OF!?? I just want my mind put at rest and Advice as this can help and my doctor is just telling me to wait.. Easier said than done!

If the baby had have passed you HCG levels start to reduce, which means that eventually your symptoms would disappear. However by 10 weeks with me my symptoms had gone and i freaked thinking there there was something wrong with my baby, there wasn't and my symptoms returned two days latter worse than ever! Unfortunately there is no real way to tell with out the ultrasound or fetal doppler. Is there any way you could push for an earlier ultrasound because of your bleeding, Is there somewhere you could go and maybe pay for one? I would assume since your symptoms are still strong everything would be fine!

honestly...yes, you can still get symptoms even if you have miscarried a baby or have what they refer to as a blighted ovum....or the heart stops...its very sad but i want to be truthful with you

you could very well get symtpoms until all the HCG is out of your body which could explain the faint test results...it took me 7 weeks once to get met my normal period again after a mc and i still had positive preg tests for about a month after that loss....

honestly your doc is ridiculous...given the fact you had a mc and got preg again they should be getting your in for a scan much sooner than 12 weeks to see what is going on

have you tried asking for a HCG blood test to see if your levels are doubling as they should? that may put your mind at ease until your scan

The bleeding was 3 wks ago, and lasted like 2 hours! It just scared me!
I went back to my doctors today, and I basically washed all the salt out of my Body because Where I was so thirsty and dehydrated I kept drinking and drinking and now have lack of salt. My GP said this is normal and i told her I was still worried because of the Bleeding 3 wks ago and she said i am still pregnant and the reason my test this morning was so faint is cause i Diluted it yesterday drinking so much, so unless I drink less that 7 litres of Fluids a day I will constantly have Diluted urine. Even FMU!
But I am still pregnant. and I have to wait 2 wks for my scan. Because this is a new pregnancy because the Early Pregnancy Unit assessed me without a scan as they couldnt and compared my HCG from my MC and from now! And this is a new one!

I Just got worried, but today i saw a different GP! LOL!

im not trying to be a downer...just trying to be a realist...i could drink 1/2 gallon of tea after my BFP and my lines did not get lighter especially after 3 weeks to a month

i kept testing even after i knew my HCG levels were rising because i was so terrified the line would start to fade...i tested until i was 10 weeks preg...i thought DF was going to kill me for how much money i was spending on tests

i would demand your GP take your HCG levels and make sure they are doubling as they should...if they are then you have some relief that everything is good...im just concerned that your lines are still faint

Until you pass the tissue your body is giong to produce atleast small amounts of HCG. When I had my last miscarriage I had positive at 4 1/2 weeks.  But over the next several days the tests got lighter and lighter.  My doctor gave me a shot of progesterone just to see if it would help.  About a week later I started cramping and bleeding.  When I explained to my doctor that my test lines were getting fainter he said that it was a threatened miscarriage and that my HCG was dropping.  

I am with waitn.  I would DEMAND your doctor take your HCG and scan you, if he will not I would find another doctor who WILL.  

You could always go to the ER and tell them you were cramping or something and see what they do.  That might get you  some answers faster than your doctor.  I really hope that I'm wrong, but the fact that your lines are getting fainter isn't a good sign :(  I'm really sorry and I hope its not what I'm thinking. The lines were getting fainter because i diluted my wee, Including my FMU, because i was dehydrated so i was drinking 7 litres of Fluids a day. But I actually have no salt. But I had my HCG levels tested at my midwife apt but i wont find them out just yet, My GP said they were apprently High though? like 6700 or something. I duno. I was walking out the door. But I am still pregnant I know that for sure. Because the bleeding was just where I moved my room around! I am having my scan after my next Midwife apt which is in two weeks. its taking so long because I am not having stuff done at my Local Hospital. I am having it where I was born and my other half was born which is half an hour away. Because Its better than my Local. So I have to have my booking apt all over again. LOL!

But the GP I saw today said everything is fine. The reason it was faint is because I diluted my Urine ddrinking SO much fluids during the day, and if the heartbeat had stopped but I hadnt passed the baby the Symptoms would have gone in a few days after I bled and they are getting stronger.

at 8 wks my HCG was 37861. and I dont know the results and will at my next apt. and let you know, I had all these blood tests and she didnt mark the bottles. So i have to have them done again at the hospital I want to deliver at anyways.

But I am still pregnant. because my symptoms would have gone after I bled. And they havent. I have another apt in a few days and they are going to try and listen for a heartbeat. But there machines are rubbish!

And ER wont scan me without a Docotor referall becase the ER doesnt have scanning Equipt the Early Pregnancy Unit does and they close at 5 and im at work untill 6. and Early {Pregnancy doesnt see any one with out a doctor referral and the doctor wont refer me unless im bleeding with cramping. The Bleeding I had was 3 wks ago....

But was something that was stuck in my mind just incase!

So everything is looking Good again. :)

It was cause of heavy lifting I bled in the first place cause I had the exam my Cervix was closed.

And TODAY, my cervix is closed and I have no sign of miscarrige Just lack of salt! :)

it is very possible to still have all the symptoms and have what is called a blighted ovum...baby doesnt develop...it doesnt matter how much you drink if you are supposed to be 10 weeks preg your lines would be darker and not faint...it does not matter how much you drink...very early in the preg the amount you drink can affect the faintness of a line

also there are women who go for their 12 weeks scans with all the symptoms to find out their baby stopped developing...it does happen so you cannot judge the fact that you have symptoms to mean you have a healthy preg right now

again im not trying to be a downer but a realist and i feel that your GP is giving you falso information....im sorry...again i hope im wrong

maybe its possible your not as far along as you think you are...it really is hard to date your new preg because you got preg right after a mc...who knows at this point

I have been told different dates from my midwife and GP. and that is a posibilty.
I posted the question before I saw another GP. Because I wasnt going to see the doctor.

I saw a GP and giving you the answer i was told about too much drinking of Fluids can dilute it or something.

The GP said nothing about the Blighted Ovum. She said I sound like im having a Healthy pregnancy... and this is usual. I asked for a scan to be booked she said No, because im not 12 wks by her calculations, and they wont scan me before unless ther are probs. Which is bugging me because everything ive read they say they can Scan between 8 and 14 wks for a dating scan, but they wont scan me?

My GP and Midwife both said the Blighted Ovum thing was rare but does happen??

Its okay. I really do appreciate your comments and adivce and help, and it really does help and I take nothing personally, I know you're trying to help and answer the questions that have been answered. I am fine with that. :) its all okay.

My GP also said it doesnt matter how faint or Strong it is a Positive is still a Positive...
So basically I just have to wait and see? And Do just ddo everything I would as if I was preg Just incase??.

But the Blighted Ovum thing can still be a possibilty because of the bleeding, because I understand that can happen and people have no bleeding at all. Or something??

Thank you all loads, It has helped me better than my GP who seemed to only say what I wanted to hear... And that this is all normal. through pregnancy and i diluted it and stuff. Think its time to go to a new doctors as these are really not helping.

I will Try and go to ER and say I have cramping and stuff..... and see if they will seee me without a doctor referall.

i would def recommend another GP because i would not sit around and let a GP tell me everything is ok and "sounds" normal....i would demand to know that it "is" normal...i cant believe they wont scan before 12 weeks....oh my

i had a dating scan at 7 weeks and we saw the heartbeat...but i also had a little spotting very early on so they scanned me again to check and there the baby was...iim now 24.5 weeks preg so its very like that you do have a healthy preg

I agree with waitn and GA on this one...when I miscarried, I bled for several days but I didn't lose the nausea and dizziness and fatigue for several weeks...and ESPECIALLY if you miscarried but haven't passed the tissue, as long as that tissue isn't passed or reabsorbed you will still be feeling pregnant. you will still have symptoms.

Please please please find someone who will scan you and tell you what your current HCG levels are, you don't need to sit around and wonder. good luck at the ER, I really hope your levels are going up and the scan looks great with a healthy little heart thumping away. Good luck.

I hope your baby is ok... I started bleeding a few weeks ago and they brought me in for an ultrasound right away... I was only 7 weeks then... and I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks! But my baby was fine... I was spotting because I had a small hole in my uterus or something but its closed up and everythings fine. So, I really hope that its just something similliar and everything is fine!! But, like everyone else said I would definitely demand an ultrasound from your ER or find a doctor that will give you one! Because you are having problems and since you did recently MC they should have scanned you a LONG time ago!! Anyways, good luck sweetie and keep us posted how everything turns out!

I dont know why they wont scan me either. I Just dont understand. My stomach has bloated more since I bled. My Boyfriends sister had regular periods throught her pregnancy and so did my mum and I also bled in my first pregnancy and everything was obviously fine... But every pregnancy is different!

I miscarried and concived straight away so I didnt have time to lose my symptoms. After my Termination they went straight away. I just had the massive lumps in my boobs (Milk)..
And it was gone the next day. So I got all confused. My Bleeding from my MC lasted 4 days. And the bleeding I had when i believe I was 8 and a half wks lasted  2 hours. The GP i saw explained that it was where I was doing heavy lifting and my cervix was closed and i didnt bleed after that, Not even old blood.

It is bugging me they wont scan me even though I am doing what my boyfriends sister done saying she doesnt know when she concieved but they aint doing squat. I was like i have 2 possible dates and everyone is saying one and the others saying another I want to know for sure. My HCG levels I had taken was correct for 8 wks.
I find out my next levels properly at my nxt apt.

I will still take my Folic acid and things just incase.

I hope If i keep going on at them I will get my scan Its hard because I have to go through another hospital in another county!

Just do what I did. I went to the ER told them I am such and such weeks pregnant and that I had some bleeding. They did 2 scans on me, and thats when I found out I had a MASSIVE Coprus Luteum cyst.  I was 4 weeks with the first scan and 5-6 weeks with the second scan.

But My mum has gone to do her evening work and so I have my brother and sister,
whats annoying is, everyone professional I spoke too says im fine and still pregnant and If I lost the baby but havent passed it, I would have NO SYMPTOMS of pregnancy and wouldnt be getting new ones too and I sound like I am having the normal 10 week stage pregnancy. And others arent. Arghh haha.
The GP said I just Diluted myself and so did the nurse I spoke to at ER when I rang up and asked them if I could go to EPAU and they said No you just Diluted yourself you're still pregnant, because My stomach has grown (my uterus area) from my last apt (When I bled) which means to them its growingg..
I just gotta wait, they will Not scan me untill 12 weeks. because if they made an acception for me they will have to do the same as everyone else?? ARGH! England *****.

the one thing you could try is to not drink anything before bed, dont go to the bathroom over night and then take a hpt first thing in the morning

you should have a bright line because at 10 weeks your HCG levels should be pretty high and almost levelling off

just a suggestion...2 weeks is too much waiting in my eyes

Yeah Its too much waiting for me too. and I am not the most patient of people! at all. I have no money for another HPT! hahaha.

so in about 3 days I will go to my GP and say ive got really bad pain and slight bleeding and see what she does!

my boyfriends sister and their other brothers GF are both pregnant and had EXACTLY the same thing and their fine. and Like I said I bled in my First pregnancy the same.
but they are taking the p i s s with the whole scanning thing.
I have to have the DS test before a scan???

But my midwife thinks im a week behind but the way she worked it out doesnt make sense because I see my Bf every Saturday because of his work and so basically only have sex Saturday and or Sunday.. she said by her calcuations I concieved on a Wednesday... Unless im missing something here, i do not recall having sex on a Wednesday because I was on my own, Unless im magic, I think Im right with my Conception Date!

And I know my body! Its all confusing because of the bloating and new symptoms coming on which i know wouldnt happen if the heart stopped! ARGH!

I WANT A SCAN!!!

Seriously can you not go see someone else? When I wasn't sure about my Dr's answers I just went to another place!! Here too they wouldn't give me us till 12 weeks but I also had no issues. But had I bled id go bouncing around town till I hit a Dr that gave me it!!

Also for the preggo tests, could it be that you are using a brand that doesnt get very dark? I find the dollar ones to be faint, even when later on in pregnancy. Im sure the watter can dilute abit but after a few weeks should get darker. try a different brand that is normally dark. Go check peeonastick.com to compair.

As for your symptoms, when I MC in Jan I felt all my symptoms vanish on me and I then MC. I had NO SYMPTOMS AT ALL after I MC. So I do not agree with those above saying you have symptoms after. I think it varries on the woman and some might still feel symptoms, others might not. Just like some have no morning sickness, others do. Hell some people when NOT PREGNANT feel symptoms, alot of the time it can be symptoms not even related to pregnancy. your body is hormonal so anything is possible.
Honestly I wouldn't rely on symptoms to have ANT BARING on your pregnancy being healthy or not. My symptoms vanished for a few days at 8 weeks and I FREAKED OUT thinking im gonna MC, then they came back. So really don't rely on that at all!!

Whats important is that you eat healthy, take your vitamins, dont smoke, dont drink, and do the best you can for your developing baby. You will get the scan soon. Your bleeding was most likly implantation or even just some old blood from the MC. Don't stress stressing wont help you or the baby.

I did move some washing up bowls full of water and then I bled for 2 hours and then it stopped. I am doing everything as if I was pregnant. and I remember the first time I was pregnant I took a test of what I recall about 3 months I was thinking that two lines meant negative because I didnt have the packaging cause I binned it not thinking it was really faint with FMU... so I duno haha. they are cheap brands but my first test was strong. My GP says everything is fine and just wait. NO WHERE WILL SCAN ME! I went to ER they was like No sorry, wait untill your dating scan and see. I was like but I have pain and bleeding ( I Lied) and they asked to do an internal exam I said no because last time I think thats what lead me to miscarry that day.... Plus I wasnt really bleeding.

I Suppose Im just going to have to wait. Some days I also dont feel as if I am pregnant as well, and yesterday I swear I felt something but I know its WAY To early, but people are different and think different things, but this DEFO wasnt wind. haha. But thats just me. I am goin back to my doctors monday and getting more salt replacement drink powder things anyways so I will make up something else and say I NEED a scan now! :) Lower abdominal pains. My friend is pregnant at the moment and today standing in my Kitchen she lost SO MUCH BLOOD I mean LOADS enough to fill 4 pads stacked on top within 5 mins and her baby is fine. I was like WHAT?? She had a scan and stuff and her baby is fine. she's only 7 weeks. I asked if i could have a scan they said NO! Mean.

But I understand the symptoms thing, but I doubt id be getting new ones if It had stopped. Oh I duno. Ill just sit tight. But its eaiser said than done. My GP said I seem fine to her and nothing is wrong!

OH LOL!

I cant see another doctor at another surgery unles I am registered at that doctors I can only see my GP or Duty doctor at MY surgery. which is a bummer.

I really hope all is well. From my own experience. I was 8 wks pregnant with my third baby and when I went in for my 8 wks check up they did a sono and the baby was only 6 wks in size but had a strong heart rate. I was to go back in a week later and see if the growth had changed. I didn't loose any of my symptoms and had no bleeding and when I went in wk later the baby had died. The doctor said it died the same day I had the first sono because the growth never changed. My uterus continued to grow and it was almost 10 wks in size and I opted for a D/C. But symptoms never diminished and never had any bleeding. So I pray all is well, but I am with everyonelse I would do my best to get better answers.

I am going to see if I can get my HCG levels tested, they would have started going down if it had passed?
Im just so scared. My Midwife said its rare that Blighted Ovum happens.
Im going to find a good excuse, like im bleeding again or something or having really bad cramps and want my Levels tested if I cant have a scan or something.

Chemical pregnancies are not all that uncommon actually and i think up to fifty percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage but some women just assume it was a late heavy period. I don't know how they do things there but if you have a history of a miscarriage and have had bleeding even a small amount and even with diluted urine getting fainter tests your doc seems to be a nut to not scan you.. just my opinion but something with your whole situation just isn't right.. maybe the baby is just fine but why would your doc risk waiting? i have never heard of such things.. actually quite the opposite usually they like to do ultrasounds at about 7 weeks cause that's the best dating time frame..

take another HPT tomorrow morning and dont drink anything before bed....tomorrow am pee on the HPT immediate and see if you get a dark line

this is the only way i can think of putting your mind at ease for now since your midwife/GP is not helping you

I have NO money to take a test, Im making an Apt for thursday too get my HCG levels re done and say my support worker needs them for her notes or something. So that will be alright, I am actually pennyless, I can only just afford to get to work at the moment.
I remember when I toook a pregnancy test like I said when I was obviously 3 months the first time thinking 2 lines was Negative and it was faint ish with FMU I was having cramps and took a test thought it came out Negative and obv didnt.
but i recall that being faint cause it was the day I found out I was moving into a refuge. and it was a very Busy day, I remember it like it was yesterday.
But im going to get my HCG tested and keep going on at them about a scan! I know its taking a while because im not at my Local Hospital which is under standable!!

Just a warning about your friend... my first pregnancy I started bleeding super bad and got a scan and was told baby was ok and then a couple weeks later got rescanned and found out that the baby had died a couple days after that bleeding episode.

i haven't read everything but just wanted to throw in that sperm can live up to 7 days so your midwife could be correct in saying that you are a week behind..its very possible to have sex saturday and conceive wednesday.

Oh really, I didnt know that!! WOW learn something new everyday.
and it happend in her last pregnancy also and she has a beautifull 4 yr old girl. She has been kept in for observation and they said the baby is fine and stuff.
I am taking my folic acid (when i remember) and doing everything I would as if i am stil pregnant. My GP is convinced I am fine. but I will ring in a day or so and be like, my Support worker would like me to have more blood tests done because I am going down hill with worry and thinks it would be best :)

I will let everyone know the results
which wont come through untill AFTER my midwife apt haha

hello there....I bin true 7 misscarry and went I start to misscarry one of the sign for me to that was happening was to I lose all my preggo symptom...now i will in 2 day, 25 week and from my 7 week to my 11 week i was bleeding and spoting...everyday was different...one day more and less....day in between I did not, they can not found the reason but thanks god....here Im still pregnant with a girl cooking in the oven....take care and have faith....I know bad thing can happend but good thing too....I bin in both situaccion and only have one thing to do....pray and take care of you and the baby and have faith....and be positive, everything will be ok.....god bless you and your baby....and you will be in my prayer.

thank you so  much. Its only because I had a miscarrige before im worrying. I bled after heavy lifting is all. And it wasnt that much if I think about it. the worst part allgushed out at once but wasnt enough to fil a panty liner haha, I know at my length of pregnancy symptoms start to fade away sometimes anyways.
But its still their because of my MC before.
