I conceived about 4 days after I stopped bleeding from my early miscarriage at 4 1/2 weeks. Has this happened to anyone else?

I got pregnant with my 3rd and miscarried at 4 1/2 weeks. My miscarriage was pretty much like a period aside from the sever cramping that I experienced the night it began. I bled from the 24th to the 29th. My doc checked me on the 26 and said that I only had about 1 mm of tissue left which would most likely pass on its own, so there was no need for a d&c. He told me to wait 1 cycle and then start ttc again if we wanted. My husband and I were very anxious to start trying again, so after some research on the internet I emailed my doc and asked him if there was any added risk for a repeat miscarriage if I concieved again right after. He told me that there isn't and that waiting was basically just to "regulate" again. He said that I could start trying again, but may be less likely to conceive. Well, the way I figured it I should have ovulated on or about the 8th of this month if I had a normal cycle. I had been taking OPK's every day since I stopped bleeding (sometimes twice a day), and hadn't gotten a pos reading. On the 8th I had some light cramping and spotting, the way I always do when implantation occurs. This was my first clue that there was a chance that I may have already been pregnant. I had some other symptoms that I thought must have been all in my head since I never got a pos opk.
Well, this morning I took a pregnancy test and voila, it is POSTITIVE. It is a very light line, but a line none-the-less. The way I figure it I think it happened on or around the 2nd of this month, which would have been only 4 days after the end of my bleeding. Has any one else experienced this? I didn't think it could happen THAT soon afterward. I am thrilled, but am nervous that I could miscarry again.

Hiya its possible to concieve (conceive) again following a mc,as soon as your levels drop then you would ovulate.4 and half days does seem early.I would seek advice from your doctor to confirm,its possible you still had some HCG left in your body which is why you got a faint positive,if indeed a new pregnancy then congrats.

Actually I think my levels dropped very quickly. Two days after the mc began, and I went to the doc my preg test came up neg. Plus, I took a test two days ago and got a neg.

I had a miscarriage and a D&C and it still took 4 weeks for the HCG to completely leave my system. I then got pregnant right after. But before I got pregnant they had to make sure that my levels returned to zero. Most likely it is just the left over hormone from your miscarriage. Best thing to do would be to contact your doctor and request a blood test to see if the levels are increasing or decreasing.

I was beginning to think that I was imagining things, but my dh keeps reassuring me that I'm not considering that I have gotten 2 negative tests before this and I have the symptoms. I am going to take another test tomorrow morning to make sure, since the line should be darker.

*update* I had my pos test on the 13th, then 2 negs on the 15th. I went to the doc and asked for a test on the 16th which also came up neg. They ordered blood work to be sure and it came up neg. Then, today I took another test because I had a feeling and it was pos! What a roller coaster! I'm going to take another test tomorrow and make an appt with my doc. I guess we'll see if i'm just really screwed up or actually preggers!

Mc can seriously send your body out of wack.if you are pregnant then great,does sound like the remaons of hcg are gone,which mean on a flip side you can get ready to start again,best of luck..

How did everything go with your dr? Well i recently had a miscarriage in dec and last week i took a pregnancy test after not getting my period since the mc it was positive. My hcg levels were real low with the last one and were not doubling and evertime i took a preg test the line was very faith but this time the positive line popped right up and is very dark so im hoping the best. I just dont know when i conceived but i guess when i go to the dr they can tell me more, it just happen so fast we are excited but still worried me and my dh have not told anyone yet i hope everything goes well with you.

The doctors appt went well. I had bloodwork done and my levels were at 49, compared to 0 on the 16th. I am definately pregnant! I actually didn't conceive when I thought though. My best guess is that it happened 10 days after the bleeding stopped. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! I know how hard it is to get excited when you're just not sure and are a little worried anyway! Good luck, and keep me posted.

A couple of months back i concieved naturally (a miricle n couldn't believe it happened naturally). I had all feelings of a pregnant n HPT was possitive. I felt conception n implantation bt spotting started after 11/2 month n i passed a clot  then just spotting bt U/S showed a sac of 41/2 wks at 9 wks so its a missed abortion BUT it showed that i can concieve (conceive).

My U/S on past Sunday showed that i've a 4mm sac/clot inside me n missed a miscarrige. What r my chances of pregnancy?

I need some clarification- are you wondering what your chances of concieving again after m/c are, or are you wondering if what your u/s showed is an actual pregnancy?
