I got 2 diffeent dates of how far along i am. . . .

I went to the emergencey room on Oct. 28, 2010 with stomach pains and they gave me a pregnancy test that came up postive. They did and ultra sound on me and told me that i was aproxomatily 15 weeks that day. I couldnt remember my LMP but i kno i come on at the 2nd to last week of the month in July. I went to my OBGYN on Nov. 10, 2010 and he didnt do a ultra sound he just felt my stomach a little bit and took out a measuring tape and measured my stomach and said that i was 15weeks. So i dont kno which i should go by the emergency room are my new OBGYN. So confused.

I would go by the scan,doctors may be good,but they cant tell in my opinion how many weeks you are by measureing you with a tape.since all babys can be different sizes.

When i went to the Emergency room they didnt give me a due date.. .So when would my due date be? My OBGYN did he said May 5, but i dont really want to take his word for it any way. His stuff just isnt adding up. . . Does that mean i shold change dotors or wait fo him to do the Ultra sound on Nov. 21. Wouldn't i be like 19-20 weeks by then going off of what the emergeny said? HELP

Without knowing your last period date,this is whats most lilkely making a confusion on your how far you are.until your OB does a scan then it will become accurate with your dates.if you feel you had period around second last week july,then for guess reason say 21 july.3rd week,makes you just over 15 weeks.on the date you have a scan makes you 18 weeks.if you go by guessed date of period.can I ask why are you so worried,are the potentially more than one father ? .

The familys mine and his are having issues with the dates not adding up. Dont understand why the doctors dates arent adding up. My mother said just go off the ultra sound its more accurate then what the OGYN did with the measuring and the feeling my stomach. Just want to kno what my next move should be get a new doctor or wait for him to do the ultra sound on the 21st. Both familes want me too get rid od of the doc and get a new 1. . . . .

go by the ultra sound.  What the doctor was doing was measuring the height of fundus, or (where the top of your uterus has grown to).

Measuring with a tape measure should not be based on where your actual due date is.  Many times I measured very large when I was pregnant with my daughter.  Sometimes I measured right on.  The ultra sound is much more accurate.

Dont worry about measureing a little small.  Lots of women measure all over the place & have very healthy babies.

I would say you are 17 weeks 5 days as of 11-13-10.  Your due date would be 22 weeks 2 days from today.  

congrats on your pregnancy.  Did you first find out in the ER or did you suspect it?

You do what is best for you hun.but go by the scan dates.I would see what next scan shows.try not to worry.

some doctors don't do scans right away, the just measure.  Some doctors order scans during the first appt.  It may also depend on your insurance...  You may only get one scan unless they find it medically necessary (which later in pregnancy they will)

It was that way when I had my daughter.  I didn't get a scan done for a while....It was dependent on my insurance.
with my last 2 pregnancies, I had a scan on the first visit.

I  wasnt expecting it.. . .I went there because i was having the worst stomach pains I was still bleeding a lil every month so didnt expext it at all That all stopped in Oct.. Everyone is happy just not with the doctors..
