I had a trans vaginal ultrasound today and they coudn't find the baby???

by shelby2430, Nov 04, 2009 04:29PM
Ok, so im 6 weeks pregnant. I went for my ultrasound today and she said that she couldn't see the baby and I am supposed to go have another ultrasound in 10days. Is this normal to not be able to see it? Is it to early to see it, and how far along should I be before I can?

It may be too early to see anything.  Did they mention if they saw the gestational sac?

They didn't mention that. I think that tomorrow I will call to ask if they seen that!
I have had five pos preg test and one doc pos preg test and the beginning of last week my hCG was 550. So im pretty sure im pregnant but it just worried me that they said to do it again to make sure everything is alright.

They usually won't see anything on the ultrasound until you reach about 1500, I believe.  If they saw the gestational sac and maybe a yolk sac, that's a good sign.  The fetal pole will develop last and then you would see a heartbeat around week 7-8 (sometimes it's earlier).

if u r diagnosed as pregnant n ur in the 6 th week of ur gestational period then the diagnostic ultra sound would find the baby only after 10 the week as the fetal demise(half body of baby) will be formed till then.so u hav to wait untill 10 the week n ull certainly see the baby.the things they saw in usg is the yolk sac and the gestational sac which are already formed.there is nothing to be worried.hav a periodic check up n take docs advice.
