I need some advice

by mannie263, Feb 21, 2008 11:44AM
Ladies I have a question and I have already asked this once. So I
have my doctor's appt. Mar 3, I am currently 25 weeks and I don't feel
much movement. I do every once in a while but it just worries me. Should
I be? I am probably going to ask if I could have another ultrasound to
make sure everything is alright. I don't feel like everything is fine.
What do you think?

What they recommended to me when I was overdue to monitor movement is to ly on your side after a meal (when baby should be active) and count the movements.  You should get atleast 10 in the following hour.

Like lonta83 said you should do a fetal kick test.  They told me to drink cold orange juice before doing it and that you should feel 10 kicks in 1 hour. If not you should call your doc.

Iam 31 weeks and my lil bugger is active in the morning and pretty quiet the rest of the day. My baby didn't really have much of a pattern until around 25 weeks, up until then it was really sporatic. All babies are different, but if you are really concerned, do what the other ladies said. Monitor the movements and see how that goes. I would be really concerned if I wasn't feeling anything at all. I don't always get kicked or punched, some days it's just moving from side to the other, not really kicks. But mention it to your doc and maybe they will do an u/s to put your mind at ease. =)

have they checked to make sure the placenta is in the back and not front?  when was your last u/s?  most likely everything is fine.  baby is probably asleep while u r awake and active and baby is awake and active while u r asleep, thus you dont feel it.  i would ask for the u/s if u r that concerned.  whether they do it or not is a different story. there were times that i didnt feel my baby until 10pm- midnight.   good luck. i hope all is well.

Every baby has different patterns. Some just move a lot and some don't move much. What would concern me is if your baby was very active and then just immediately slowed down. At 25 weeks, you should definitely be feeling some regular movement though. But really pay attention to your body and if anything just feels wrong, definitely call your doctor.
