I think my water just broke!!! :) NOt leaking broke!!

Ok so hears my story and its qutie funny..for the past couple days i have been having pain..tonight they were worst...well df finally agreed to have sex..yay!! lol...so of course i said yes...but while were doing it...i feel this big gush of warm fluid come out!! And thats NEVER EVER happened before when we were doing it..like it went down his legs and everything!! We know its not him cuz its clear and runny!! JUST LIKE WATER!! And it was before i went soo what are the chances that this is my waater and how would i know..when i felt it i was like omg!! But of course kept going!! What should i do??? Anybody think it could be something different..it just gushed out!! Ashiepooh this is soo funny because if it is my water..hahaha its exzactlay how it would happen!! lol

i would definitly go to the hospital. After your water breaks u only have so much time to get help before the chance of infection set in.

if it was a gush its either ur water or u peed urself. lol which can happen.... but the way u are describing it.... i'd say water. pack ur stuff and head to L&D. It's better safe than sorry anyways.

Ha, this happened to me too with my DD. I actually peed during sex. It is better to go get checked though. If it was your water you would still be leaking though.

If it is your water it'll have a sweet smell, not a bitter smell like urine. Also it will still trickle out when you move. Especially if you lay down for about 15 mintues or more and then get up--- you should feel another small gush or trickle.

I agree, if it is your water it would have been a lot more than just one big gush. My water leaked for hours after it first gushed out.

I just had one big gush? BUT I didn't have a whole lot of fluid, and U/S earlier that day said my fluid was real low, surely she would have known if it were pee! HEHE It does have a distict smell, even if it is healthy urine, it still smells like pee, LOL For her sake I hope it was her water! She is ready to be done being pregnant! Love her heart!

Very true, if it's pee, lol it does have a smell that I certainly would be jumping in the shower for lmao....and then be kind of embarassed ahaha! But it happens sometimes, but kind of a gush like sounds like the water breaking!!

soo ladies...an update about l&d last night!! So i went in and they did the amino test with the stick!! It turned so she said it broke and laeked out some water..but she couldnt see anything leaking at the time and my cervix wasent doing anything!! She said my water has closed itself back up!! WTF??? something finally happens and then it turns back the other way!! OH MIE!! But i have a doc appt with my obs today and im going to ask him to sweep my membranes!! I was so excited last night that i thought it was it..i had just finished cry an hour before for like two hours non stop because i feel sooo unattractive and fat and tired...i really feel like i cant do this anymore and i feel like a bad mother( as i said before) For wanting my baby out,...but im just so ready to meet him/her already! and get rid of these pains!!! Oh well..so thats how my night went....needless to say i was yet again dissapointed when i was sent home and told to wait!! So if i get another gush i have to go in!! I figured something was going on sence i couldnt still feel it leaking!! i need some seriuose doc dust that he will do something for me!

AHHH! That is so frustrating! I know exactly how you feel and I am sorry that you got your hopes up and thought it was D-DAY!  I would have done the same thing though - I have been having more frequent contractions (usually in the evening), but nothing comes of them and they aren't really painful, just uncomfortable.  We don't have much longer though Rosa - Just under 2 weeks for me!  Hang in there honey!

im hoping the doc sweeps my membranes when i see him..well at least whats left of them and maby that will get things going too!! ...only 14 days anyways! Ill try and hold out till then if it dont happen before!! :)

I don't see any reason that he wouldn't sweep the membranes especially if you haven't started labor yet. Once your water breaks, even if it "seals" again, they really don't want you going longer than 24-48 hours before going into true labor. I think he'll be very receptive if you but ask. Let us know how the appointment goes. Of course, he may decide to induce, in which case we'll hear from you once the little one is here. **Doc Dust** to the rescue... Or at least in your direction. :)

yeah they monitered me a little...wasent having bad contractions at all...i got to the L&D and they stopped ( but of course) lol....today i am getting them a bit more painful,..not regular but am having alot of pelivc pain and belly pain...Im hoping when i got to the doc today he sweeps and i go..or maby he will induce! Im hoping he does something i cant really take this pain anymore..the sleepless nights and pains in my belly that result in nothing!! lol well see ill update when i get back..( if i get back) fingers crossed!!

I bet he is going to check you and your going to be dialated!  Hehehe  Then he wont need to sweep your membranes  I hope for you, your at 5, so you have to go to the hospital and we will hear from you in a few days!  I'd bring your hospital bag just in case!!!  

They will likely send you over there, and get you started on some meds that will bring on strong contractions and hope you dialate!  =)  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  I'll check in through out the day, I have to start cooking for Thursday so I hope I don't miss anything..  =)

soooooooo.....just back from the doc...he thinks ill go around if not on my dd!! There is nothing going on down below....im only like a finger tip or something so he cant sweep my membranes..he says he knows how hard it is the last month but to have patients that it will happen!! He says it should be easier then my first labour too!! SOmething to look forward too!! I am thinking now i might go over due..all because i am not dialated any and everyone else due in dec seems to be like three cm already!! Congrats to all of them..BUt no fair....ughhh...i guess ill just have to wait!!

Well dilation doesn't mean they'll go into labor first or anything. You can be dilated for weeks and still have to be induced. OR... you can not be dilated but find yourself at the hospital ready to push!

There;s a good chance that your Dr might not sweep wince you still have 2 weeks to go, with all of my friends thier Dr wouldn't do it until they reached the due date, except one who was due Christmas day and the Dr was going to be away...aand it didn't help anyways her boy was born jan 4

Did they not even do a U/S to measure your fluid?? If you had a significant gush you would think they would have made sure there was still plenty for baby! Well I hope it goes faster than they are saying for you mental status LOL. Good luck dear!

well enough with the df thing..lol...i cant do it anymore im too big i found it tooo hard! lol..so i have a question though~?? !! When the doc checked me he said something about my mucos plug and his wife..(the nurse) looked at me and said ahh soon!! I just went to the bathroom(bm)sorry if tmi and i think i may have lost it..well it didnt have blood in it but it looked just like snot! COuld this be it..and how long after do you go in labour?? And should i watch for a bloddy show??

When I was pg with my dd I lost mucos plug about 2 weeks before she decided to come.  She came on her due date.............I hope you go soon, I know the last weeks are miserable.  I was so glad when Jacob made his early appearance................I was so uncomfortable, and totally wasn't expecting him early, but was glad.........Good luck  lot and lots of labor dust!!!!!!!!!

I never had bloody show, but did lose my mucous plug in chunks. It's like really weird, clearish gelatin. It can range in sizes, too, depending if it came out all at once or in pieces.

You can lose it weeks before labor, though... I know you don't want to hear that!

Did your doctor tell you not to have sex?  If he didn't say anything about it, by all means get him to pop that baby out!  LOL

Rosa~ Sounds like the plug to me. When I lost mine (a month AFTER my csection WTF?) it was like a jello/snot thing and it wis discusting!

Make sure to use condoms, as yes  you are at risk for infection. In fact I think they say after 34??? weeks to alwyas use a condom incase you are dialated at all

i am dialted, and was for so long with my son and never got told to wear a condom.  i think my doctor would have told me too.  Oh well.

My doc said its fine to have intercourse w/o a condom once you loose your plugg and I did and my son is fine! I think its more of a personal choice! Good Luck and Labor Dust

I was dilated at 1 cm and went into labor about a week and a half early still at 1 cm. My friend was at a 2 from about a month before her due date and ended up going over a week so dilation really doesn't matter.

I was about 4 cm dilated for two weeks before I had my daughter.  You don't need to use a condom to have sex, they say that the semen can help move things along, also nipple stimulation really helps.  Good luck!  Those things didn't work for us though, DH and I had sex everyday when I was 4 cm dilated and 75% effaced for the week before I finally went in and had our daughter, we had sex without using a condom and our daughter was very healthy.  

Also, I don't remeber losing my plug.  I think it happend gradually and I never noticed.  I've heard about two weeks or less when you lose your plug.
