IBS and Pregnancy

by SS77, Jan 19, 2009 05:42PM
I'm 31 y/o female and was diagnosed with IBS when I was 29 y/o after the birth of my 3rd child. I'm now thinking about trying for another, but afraid of how bad my IBS could get. My IBS is very mild now and oddly enough seems to be controlled by taking prilosec. The reason I started taking prilosec was because when I started having diarrhea I also had this burning sensation around the belly button area. The doc look at my upper GI, but saw nothing not even heartburn damage. So diagnosed me with heartburn and IBS. That is the reason I take prilosec. My fear is that once I get off my prilosec when I'm pregnant that things could take a change for the worse. If I do not have all these problems I would have already had my 4th child, but things don't always go as plan. Does anyone know how IBS during pregancy?
