IT'S BEEN A WHILE!!! DO YOU COUNT THE BROWN SPOTTING AS FIRST DAY OF PERIOD?

HI,

Things has been so crazy with me I do not get on here much like I used to! My sister had her baby June 19th Via C-section and I have been babysitting and helping her out since she is a first time mom! DH and I have not even had time to think about TTC we have been so busy!!! My period was a week late in May and started on the 29th.
In June I started having brown spotting on the 30th so I was like ok here she comes but it was just brown all day like old blood then yesterday it was still brown but very light. Today I put a pad on and there was a little blood on the pad but  not much at all and I wiped twice and it is gone and it is back to brown again my period is usually very very heavy. I have never had a light period before maybe it is  just my body changing, but do I count the first day of brown spotting as day 1 or today since there was a little bit of blood?? Why would it go from red to brown I assumed it would be very heavy by now but it is not and I dont feel like it is going to. What do you think?

That's a good question but I think we all have different ideas about what constitutes a true period. I'd ask a professional but I'm pretty sure the first day of blood FLOW is the first day if your period.

Is it possible that you are pregnant?  Might be implantation bleeding.

I got up this morning and thought for sure I would have a heavy flow but it is still brown so I guess I will wait and see if it gets heavy!

I would probably wait until it's red and flowing to count it as day one. I usually spot red or brown and then end up getting mine later that day or the next morning and that's when I start counting. Let's hope you are preggo though!!! =)

There was a little bit of red yesterday when I wiped twice then it was gone, now it is brown again. I have never had this before normally it would be brown then reddish brown then heavy flow the next day but who know lol It would be great to be preggo since DH and I have been doing the NOT TRYING BUT TRYING GAME LOL

I was told no to count it.   Only if it's ATLEAST bright red and light bleeding...then of course medium and heavy flow...but not brown spotting.  Even when I chart my flows on here, they NEVER count spotting as your first day...only if its a light-heavy flow.  

Remember, if you're TTC and you do get spotting of any type, it could be implantation bleeding.  Good luck and hope this helps

That is strange how it was brown, red and now brown again. hmmm. I would definitely take note of when and how it happened and just see what happens in the next day or so. The "not trying but trying game" is the best way to go. lol. Happened with me with my first!  This one was just a complete suprise to us. But suprises are good! =)

It is very wierd for me to I am like ok lol this is a new one on my body it has done crazy things before but this is out there lol. It is like I am having a very very light period with brown stuff I am not even cramping at all today wierd. I am going to see how it goes lol

that happened to me on june 10th....... same exact story as you thats funny..... but i took a test a day after this 'spotting/bleeding ' thing went away and it was neg....... so     :(     yeah anyway, but for some reason yesterday and today i feel nausea and a little sick so i dunno maybe that test was a false negative, but i dont want to get my hopes up........ ill wait and see if i get AF this month---------- i better not :(
but then again weve only been TTC for 2months......... with my first i got pregos rite away........... i hope its the same this time around........... BaByDuSt

When I wipe now there is nothing I am cramping a little but this is weird it is like my period is backwards or something....

I took a test but it was negative this is so wierd when I wiped earlier there was alot of discharge like I am getting ready to ovulate but I did not have a period I know I didnt I only bled a little bit and I wiped 3 times and it was gone the other day I guess I will just wait it out lol Thanks ladies Happy 4th!
