I'm going to the Dr tomorrow at 1:45pm. I have a new problem

I'm going to the Dr tomorrow.  I started having a light pain in my left breast last night.  I'm not sure what to make of it.  Its a kinda sore feeling.  My mother in law thinks that I have a clogged milk d.  But have have not breat feed in a month... so I dont know what to think.  I going that one positive digital test and all the other test that i have taken have been negitive.  Sigh,,,,  if any one knows what this could be feel free to let me know. when i went to take a shower i found a VERY light bruse on my left breast.  The same place that has been hurting.  Any one ever had this happen?

You can still have a clogged duct, even if you're not BFing anymore. If you see a bruise then you may have unknowingly injured your breast (running into something perhaps).

No i have not injured it.  lol.  It on the outer left side of my breast.  Almost under my arm.  Sigh...... what is the treatment for a clogged milk duct?

Anita - My mother told me she had HORRIBLE problems with constantly clogging milk ducts, she used hot water on the spot where it hurt, and light massaging, hope it works! That was my worst fear, getting a clogged milk duct, I was more scared of that than I was labor, crazy huh?!

I took a shower tonight a got the water as hot as i could an let it run over the spot that hurts.  it didnt help

Anita - Have you talked to your doctor yet?? They can usually give you something to help with clogged ducts, ALSO try a icy hot patch on the spot, that might work! I hope it goes away for you soon!

I went to dr and he said i have a infected milk duct.  I have to take antibiotics for ten days then go back.  They said they would call me if the pee-pregnancy test is positive.  They took blood too but we will not get that back until monday.  I have to go to walmart tonight so i will have to get some icy hot.  Anita

I'm glad you went in for the milk duct, that can cause horrible discomfort if it turns into mastitis (sp?).

Why couldn't they do the urine test right away? That's odd. Good luck. I cant wait to hear the results!!!!

They said that the urion test may not be correct because I have not missed my period.  They just told me to pee in a cup and leave it.  they said they would call me if it was positive.  I never got a call so i dont know.  I will get the results of my blood work monday.  Thats what he said i have MASTITIS.  I have to take antibotice 3 times a day for 10 days.  Then he wants to see be back for a follow up.  So... now I just have to play the waiting game.  I HATE THE WAITING GAME LOL.  Talk to ya'll later!  Anita

You'd think they'd do the pee preg test immediately and therefore give you the results immediately...especially before putting you on antibiotics etc.  

Mastitis is terrible!  Thankfully you caught it early...it can turn into a flu-like illness on top of the awful breast pain!

I have been feeling woozy today and the pain is worse.  Last night I got a little milk out.  Its was thicker and kinda yellowish,  i have a head ache and im feeling sick to my stomach,  Is this normal?

Yup...most people have these symptoms before they go to the doctor...you must have caught your mastitis very early which is great/fortunate for you!  You might even develop a fever which is normal for mastitis too...BUT  hopefully within 24hrs of being on your antibiotics, you should feel better!
