I'm really worried because I'm only 28w2d and 3 days ago I was put on bed rest because I was almost 2cm dilated and very soft. I lost my mucus plug 2 weeks ago.
Does this leaking sound normal and can these contractons be making me dilate more even though they are irregular??
When I was pregnant with my first son I got up at 3 am to go to the bathroom. I felt fine and as I was going to the bathroom I heard a soft pop and out came my plug. A few seconds later my water broke. There was a gush of fluid and to me there was not any mistaking this was my water. I called the Dr and went in to the hospital. I was put on the monitors and I was not having any contractions. I did not seem to be leaking any fluid at this point eighter. They did a test to determine if it actually was my water and it came back negitive. I was told that my water did not break and was being sent home. I was certain my water had broke but felt I did not have any arguement due to the test. I sat up and got out of the hospital bed to go home.......in front of the nurse my water started pouring out of me. I was put back in bed and had my son about 7 hours later. I remember that once my water broke my stomach felt much more soft to the touch. It did not feel like there was so much preasure anymore. Since this experience I am very cautious about my water breaking and trusting any test to tell me one way or another.
I think if you are having painful contractions they can be making you dialate. This is how you dilate when you are in labor...from the contractions......If you really think your water broke and you are having contractions go back to the hospital!!!!!! Why did they not keep you concidering you are having contractions and you are dialating at 28 weeks. You are the only voice your baby has at this point. Dont hesistate to stick up for what you think is right. You can always call the labor and delivery department at the hospital you use and tell them what is going on.....ask them if they were in your shoes what would they suggest?

you're so right! I have had this bad feeling since they sent me home yesterday like something isnt right. and I'm having more cantractions than before since that happened....speaking of that, I just had 7 contractions this hour. Imma call right now! I'm not risking anything!
I agree w/ 4boys1girl. I would go to L&D not ER. They will hook you up and monitor you. ER could care less. I hate to sound rude but that is my experience. My doctor is always very clear about calling his office and going to L&D and not the ER for problems for pregnancy. Please keep us posted!!
Well last night doc didnt want me to get checked in any way because I was scheduled today for the fFN test and and it would have messed it up. After I got home I had 6 in one hour then went to sleep. This morning I had 8 in the first hour after I woke up so I called the office and asked if I could come in early since I wasnt scheduled till 1:30. They gave me the fFN test and I should get the results in tomorrow. Then she checked my cervix. she said I am 50% thinned and the outer part of the cervix is opening but the inside is closed. I'n still very soft. She also said the baby's head has dropped (position is at 0). I asked her if this is ok or normal or what. she said it was reason for concern at this stage in pregnancy. --Then they sent me home to wait for the results of the fFN. I'm still getting contractions....Shouldnt I be at the hospital? I'm so confused!

You should be in the hospital... For some reason or another your baby is coming ... They need to try and stop it, or you need to deliver and let nature take it's course... I am sorry you are having to go through this at 28 weeks..... Didn't you say that's how far along you were ? i hope they find you an answer soon! Keep us posted.
