Irregular period - due to Copper IUD?

I am 30 years old mother of 3yr old son....i had copper IUD for the last 2years...ever since the id  ihave been having irregular cycles with severe pain & sometimes heavy / light periods...but since last month i am experiencing very light /nil kind of spotting rather than normal periods..i am worried, i have done pregnancy test, it turned out negative...my body seem to be getting bulky, this month also same problem of spotting not period....is it posssible that the copper IUD has got spoilt., or is the IUD responsible for biological changes in my regular cycle?? what should i do, should i remove the IUD..the IUD which i am currently using has 3years waranty, there's one more year to go???please help me with an early reply

The copper IUD's, as far as I have heard,can not only change your cycles, but also mess with your body.. I've heard that they were no good to use... I used to have Mirena. . I loved it!!!! No bleeding, and I had problems with mine..... I would suggest having your IUD taken out, and if your not planning on having anymore kids at this time, I would reccommend the Mirena.... I have never honestly heard of a IUD having a warranty....... Mirena is all plastic, and can actually stop you from having your period.. (but you still ovulate) .....
