with and vice versa. I have been trying to pregnant for the past 4 years so of course they have run NUMEROUS STD tests on me to keep my body healthy. All of them have been negative. My husband and I last had sex
in July before he went to California for Army training, and a few weeks later I found out that I was pregnant. Everything should be a happy occasion for us. But, I had a pap
and general workup including STD testing so that my pregnancy would be healthy. The text results came back that I had chlamydia. My partner and I have been completely faithful to one another. We were both treated to ensure that if he had it, it would go away. On that same day, before the medicine, he was also tested for STD's. His results came back negative. He did not have chlamydia. I saw the paperwork from the doctor so I know he is not lying. Well, I am 14 weeks pregnant and this has put a lot of stress on my baby, and me, and my faith in my husband, so I started researching the possible causes for this. I came across the fact that a pregnant woman can have a false positive. My doctor refuses to agree with this. I don't know what to do. I have been faithful. My husband has been faithful. In May I tested negative for Chlamydia, but in October (when I was 12 weeks pregnant) I tested positive.
I started to think about some other possibilities...I have a condition called Polycystic
Syndrome. This caused me to have a lot of fertility issues. During the last year I have been on a medicine called MetFormin which I stopped taking about 2 weeks before my positive chlamydia test. Could this possibly have contributed to the false positive?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hiya wow you poor thing, thats tough,i can answer couple of thinks,i was diagnosed with chlamydia 14 years ago after i gave birth to my son, after a one night stand.i was imediatley put on anti biotics.first thing should be no harm to your baby,2nd,chlamydia can lay dorment for a long time, and unless certain tests were done you wouldnt know you had it as no symptoms...it most certainly is a sexually transmitted disease.i have also suffered with pcos, and been on metformin, and im sorry but these wont have produced a false positive.....
