Is anyone elses babies learning this fast?

Is anyone elses babies learning this fast?

Ivy is gunna be 11 months old this coming September 10th and she's learning just a lil bit faster than I can keep up with. lol

She is really becoming a handful!
A week ago she just randomly started walking away from things like the coffee table and what not and taking a few steps here n there. Now she's walking like a pro!
She doesn't crawl anymore unless it's to get down the 2 stairs we have on each side to get into the living room.
She carries large or heavy things like stuffed animals, her sippy cup, this lil steering wheel toy that's actually pretty heavy for someone her size, and she acts like she's been doing it for years!

She's learned to somehow climb and pull herself up onto my bed which is about a half foot taller than her!
She's opening up drawers and cabinets and closing doors on herself. lolol

I bought her one of those balls with the shapes in it to put the right blocks shaped like the holes through them and she's already learned where the heart and the square go!

She says dada and daddy, and she makes this "ummmah ummmah" sound which I take is her trying to say mama. lol

She knows whose bedroom is whose. She knows if she wants me, what side of the bed to go to, and her dad, what side of the bed to go to.
She knows if she wants her "Maw Maw" which is her grandma [[hubby's mom]] which side to go looking for her at, and if she ain't there, she'll go look for her in her maw maw's bathroom cuz Ivy knows that's where she's at alot doing her hair n what not.

She lets me know when she wants her diaper changed cuz she opens up her cabinet in her room and gets a diaper and brings it to me. Or she'll start rumaging through her diaper bag and trying to get my attention.
She lets me know if she wants a bath cuz she'll go in the bathroom and start fussing, and when I go in there to see what her problem is, she's standing at the tub with her right foot over the top of the tub trying to get in.
If she wants a drink she'll bring me her sippy cup.
If she wants a snack she'll go in the kitchen and start banging on the fridge of pantry door.

She's drinking out of a regular cup with no problem aslong as I hold it for her cuz she hasn't quite grasped the consept of, "The more you tilt it up, the more that's gunna come out." lmao

She understands simple things I ask her or tell her, like "Put that down." or "Close that." or "Come here." Little things like that she understands.
I just taught her what a hug meant cuz her grandfather "paw paw" won a stuffed animal frog outta one of them claw machines, and I asked her to give it to me, and I hugged it, then gave it to her and said "Your turn" and she hugged it too. She did that all 3 times I did.

When I take a shower with her, and I rub my soap bar on my leg to shave, she sits there and rubs her leg like I do copying me. She copies me alot.
She'll wave if I wave to her.
She gives High-Fives.
She LOVES Spongebob. lol Everytime it comes on and she hears that song at the beginning, she drops what she's doing and sits down and watches the tv.

I know all babies learn at different rates but like this???
I mean, I'm not complaining because I'm proud of her, it's just a little strange to me.

I knew how to count to 20 by the time I was 2, and I know all my ABC's.
I think I'm gunna make the same flash cards with all that stuff on it for her here pretty soon just like my mom did with me.

Is anyone else's lil one's advancing like this?

Awww!! That is great! Good for Ivy!! =)
My son was the same way! By 12 months I was amazed at what he could understand and do. It's crazy. Where does the time go? Our little babies are growing up! A few months ago he would get a snack (fruit cup) out of the cupboard and bring it to me. Then I would ask him to go get a spoon or else he couldn't eat it. He woud go back into the kitchen, open the drawer, reach in (he knew where they were and what side to go to) and grab a spoon and come back to me. It's amazing! lol. He knows how to sign and even how to sign "a" and "b" and say them at the same time, says tons of words now, and give hugs and kisses, and even says sorry when he did something he shouldn't have. He is 16 months now but started all of this months ago. I had started writing down words he could say by 12 months and I just couldn't keep up anymore.
He is now learning to clean up his toys when he is done playing, knows when it's bedtime (after his shower). We say "all done" and then he says " nite nite" and goes to get his bottle for bed. I think we will attempt potty training next....OH MY!  The interest is there, but he doesn't quite get it yet. Ok now I'm bragging on my boy! LOL What mom doesn't?? =)
I just find it so amazing how quickly they learn things and yet they are still so tiny! =)  I am looking forward to going through this all over again with this baby. It's fun to watch them learn and grow.

Sounds pretty normal to me! Of course, as you said, each baby will reach milestones at different ages so something a neighbor baby is doing may not be something she is doing just yet and vice versa. It sounds like Ivy is doing just great. You can find flash cards at the dollar store if you don't want to make any.

Yes my little guy started doing all of this stuff early. He will be 1 year old this saturday. He started crawling somewhere around 4 months and walking around furniture around 7 months. When we moved into our new house he was 9 months old and we found out quick that he knew how to climb onto our new bed (its really high) go up the steps, climb onto everything from the fireplaces to the kitchen table and center island. I acually posted something about this on the maternal forum becuase I didnt think I was going to be able to handle him and a new baby. Well Taylor will be 3 weeks on saturday and Dalton will be 1 on saturday too. I have to watch him like a hawk, he gets into everything, lol. My other kids were a little slower at doing most of the stuff Dalton is doing now, but every baby is diffrent. Thats great that Ivy is doing so many things already. Maybe potty training will be a breeze.....................im hoping thats the case for Dalton, hehe:)

Well let me tell you about my Symone,

At 7 months she started crawling, and at about 8 1/2 months she started to walk. She has been walking up and down stairs since about 10 months.

She talks up a storm. She repeats everything we say. She turned 1 on the 14th. She is just growing so fast. it might be because she has an older sister. but she is a fast learner.
