I'm aware that the best way to find out if you're pregnant is to be tested, however, I didn't even suspect I might be pregnant until this week and my Last Menstrual Period (LMP) - or so I THINK it was my LMP - was only 27 days ago, and I menstruate every 35 - 40 days.
My Last Menstrual Period was a normal flow but I had no signs or symptoms of an impending period, and it was a bit early. I generally ALWAYS have cramps before I start my period, and this one started with NO cramping.
So in short:
1. I've developed a pretty noticable and firm "baby bump" on an otherwise small frame, and a ridiculous appetite
2. The ONLY contraceptive my fiancee and I have been using since early July (about 8 weeks ago) is vaginal
was too uncomfortable, IUD was too big, and hormones make me very sick.
3. Is it possible that my "Last Menstrual Period" was a hormonal fluke and I might be pregnant?
4. I have a history of occasional ovarian
cysts and hormonal imbalances.
5. Can you bleed like a period but with no cramps in early pregnancy?
6. Should I be showing this early if I am? (I'd be about 6-7wks)
7. Does this sound like I should be as concerned as I am?
8. Maybe I'm just bloated this week?
We are engaged to be married but are not planning on having children yet, so this is on my mind.
Thank you so much, MedHelp community!
i'm sorry, being tested for pregnancy isn't the BEST way to know...it's the only way apart from an ultrasound scan if you're quite a way along. going off symptoms or bodily changes is not a reliable way to tell at all since many, many things can be the cause of these changes, not just pregnancy.
I really wouldnt think that you are pregnant if you have started "your period". With or without cramps, although some women do bleed during pg its not usually heavy like a period (and if it is its not usually a good sign). As far as a "bump" normally that would not be noticiable until at least the end of the first/ begining of the second trimester 13 weeks +, probably even later if this is your first pg. But anything can happen and every women is different.
You can take a test and it should be reliable as soon as 12 days after you think you conceived.
Let us know how it goes if you test! Good Luck!
Yeah, I didn't think a crampless period should be a sign, which is why I wasn't at all concerned when I had it.
But then I started thinking about all the **** people told me about spermicide not being an effective mthod for bith control. - I really did brush it off my shoulders
and thought "people probably aren't using it right," but then I read somewhere that it has an 18% failure rate when used perfectly. I suppose that's my primary
