Is it safe?

I am in the military and tomorrow and supposed to pull 24 hour watch. meaning I have to stay awake for over 24 hours (i live 40 minutes away) im currently 8w4d pregnant, and take a nap every day when i get home from work. I haven't got to see the Dr. yet so they can't tell me anything yet. But is it safe for mommy and baby to stay awake like that? I might be over reacting but i just don't know. Thanks

It is not likely to harm the baby in any way, however, it is going to be really hard on you!

I'm not sure but it doesn't sound healthy can you tell your commader you are pregnant?

The baby will sleep whenever he/she needs to whether you're awake or not, so don't worry about that.  But like mommywa said, it's going to be rough on you!  Good luck!

It's not going to matter too much to the baby since your only 8 weeks... But your body is going to be feeling it...Have you spoken with your commanding officer ? Do they know your pregnant ?  I would make sure that you have the next day off.... You need to rest after doing something like that.

Well they all already know I am pregnant. I called my OB office and asked them, and they asked if I had seen a Dr. yet, so they told me to come in at 1:00 today to see the Dr. and to find out about pulling duty. Hopefully I won't have to! Thanks ladies!

you won't be the first military female to pull a 24 hour watch while pregnant.  YOU are likely the only one to suffer from staying awake 24 hrs.  That is if your duty doesn't consist of anythign physical that could pose potential harm.
