I just had my son this passed Monday 03/10/08 and we were released from the hospital on 03/11/08 and when we were released the nurse said that he looked a little yellow
but nothing to worry about. On thursday i took him to his pediatrician and he said the same thing, don't be alarmed right now if he looks a little yellow
and took a sample of her blood. She had lost a lot of weight too and that was concerning. We got the test results back in a few hours and we had to take her to childrens hospital.
If the doctors think he is getting more yellow they will take a sample of his blood. If you think he is still getting worse I wouldn't mess around with it. Take him back to the doctor. Is he eating good? Did he gain weight when you took him to the doctor last?
If his eyes start to get yellow that is a sign as well.
My daughters case was not the normal jaundice some newborns experience, she could not control it on her own like most.
I agree with Cremzin, My daughter had it when she was born. It never got bad. They jjust told me to take her into the sun and that would help clear it up. (of course if its warm, and not to much sun) If its getting worse and you can see it in his eyes you should def. get to the doctor..... I hope its nothing to worry about and good luck to you both!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Well i was at the doctors on Thursday and his pediatrician didn't seem too concerned, and he still had it in his eyes. I am going back Monday morning anyways, do you think that it will be ok till then?
