LOW HCG LEVEL - PLEASE HELP

Hi all, I wonder if someone could please help me out, I've been reading questions on here for several hours now and I'm still so confused over HCG levels. I have almost every symptom in the book suggesting I'm pregnant and they're only getting worse. I had a blood test done last week and the result I got was "your HCG level is low", NHS Direct told me that it wouldn't be in my blood at all without me being pregnant or having a miscarriage. My doctor is off at the moment and the rest of the surgery are useless. It's been driving me crazy, if anyone has any comments, please let me know.

women over 40 can have low levels of HCG normally, but your pretty young so i doubt you do.   They didn't give you an actual number?  anything above 20-25 is positive depending on your doctor.  good luck sorry I can't help more
