Laptops and effect on unborn baby

by hopefulLady, Oct 31, 2009 03:07AM
Hi Ladies, I have a general question here.

I am into a technical job which requires me to work intensively on my laptop at least 12-13 hrs a day. During the time when I am in office, I keep the laptop on my desk, but when I am home, I usually work with the laptop on my lap.
I am 6weeks pregnant and thinking if I should be avoiding the laptop so close to my tummy.. or am I just being paranoid..??

I have never heard of any problems due to laptops, and I really hope not because I work from home and am on mine all the time. :)

hey victoria, thanks for answering! :-) yes it just occurred to me because I just got pregnant and the baby is ALL i think about now!
well.. i would say at the rate we use our laptops... our babies will surely be very computer savvy right from the beginning, lol!

My husband had similar concerns when I was pregnant.  In the end, I put a pillow or a few blankets on my stomach and then a laptop on top of that.  It was a good compromise (I never saw an issue with it but he was always worried).
