As some of you may know, I have been hoping to become pregnant after my m/c on August2007. With saying that i have been unsuccessful and i am now wondering if someone might have a answer to my question. In December my period was due on Dec5 and didnt show up until Dec22. I must admit i was stressed out during that time but is was already late once i became stressed. So my question is does that mean i will ovulate later then normal?? And now will my cycle be changed to the end of the month since it was so late?? Thanks ladies and any advice or suggestions would be helpful!!!
I have learned from another poster on the forum that stress effects our ovulation which will effect our period. What I mean is that everyone always says that stress can cause you to be late for your period. But actually stress will/can cause you to ovulate late which will cause your period to be late. But if you ovulate early and don't get pregnant, your period will also come early. So, when we ovulate determines when your period should come. Geez!! Did I repeat myself enough???LOL! Did that make sense??
If you ovulate later, your period comes later. Your period is based off when you ovulate, not the other way around, as Michele stated. You will get a period within 14-16 days after ovulation (typically). Many women believe that they ovulate about 14 days after the start of their period. That is NOT true with every woman.
The longer your cycle, the later you ovulate is the general rule of thumb.
