Lost my mucus plug, Am I getting close?

I posted on the August board as well, but it's pretty quiet over there as well.

Hi everyone.  When I went to my midwife on Sat. I was 2 cm dialated and 80% effaced. I just used the rest room and I'm fairly certain I have lost my mucus plug.  There was a few streaks of blood in it.  I hav been crampy on and off for a few days now.  Do all you experienced moms think I am close to active labor?

I think your body is preparing for active labor, but it could be as little as hours away or as much days to weeks.  How far a long are you?

thanks, I am 38 weeks and a few days.  Hopefully it will be soon :)

I was 38 weeks when I went into labor with my daughter.  I had a regular check up and my ob told me that I was 1cm dilated.  The next day my mucous plug came off so I decided to go back to my ob just to check it out (I was so grossed out and I wanted to make sure everything was fine) When I got there she told me that I was 3cm dilated, that I was in labor and to go to the hospital.  I was having very sporadic contractions (no pain) The pain didn't start until they broke my water.  I think it was a little rushed but I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.  Like Losingmymind said it could be hours, days, or weeks.  Good luck and Congrats!

I lost my mucous plug and within few hours my water broke. I was 38 weeks few days.

thanks!  I hope it's almost labor time.  I have been very crampy today.  the cramps are painful, but I can't figure out how to time them, so I don't think they are the real thing yet.

It took me a couple of days after I lost my mucous plug.

To elaborate more on my first post.  With my first pregnancy I had a c-section never lost my plug.  With the second I lost it AFTER I was in active labor, the next 3 I didn't lose it at all that I saw so apparently it came out after I was in the hospital.
