I waswondering because at my 30 week ultrasound i had a level of 7 which as i understand it almost too low...so my question is, what are the chances of it going lower and causing complications, i am now 34 weeks pregnant ...should they check me again?
With my first preganncy my levels were low however they were still considered in the Normal range. I went for a scan when I was 40 wks and there was no fluid, I had an emergency
c-section. If your doctors aren't worried but you are, I would insist that they do another AFI. Your body is supposed to continually procude this fluid until right before birth....when it doesn't it's called oligohydramniosis. You may want to google it and read up on it. From personally experience I would push your doctors to monitor if you are worried.
according to the second page of that link normal levels for third trimester are 5 to 25 cms so your's seems fine. But if you notice your baby isn't moving as much you may want to talk to your doctor. Lack of fluid can restrict movements.
in to pull the baby out and said "yup, dry as the sahara desert". There wasn't even enough to measure. At this point your probably going to be fine. You levels may decrease a little but most likely not. Go check out that link, It has some really good information on it.
im going to the ER to have them do another ultrasound so i know where i stand..u think i should? because i dont know but ive been wetter lately..dont know if its pee but iwanted to be safer than sorry...what happened to your baby? was it okay?
I had a leak and they put me on bedrest (I was 21 weeks) Stay off your feet and drink a ton of water to replenish th efluid that is lost. Are you feeling the baby move? If you go tot the ER they will just do a swab test to check to see if it's fluid. They will also hook you up to the fetal
My baby was fine, she was a little bent in the wrong places becuase of the lack of room but she straightened out and is now a healthy 11 yo who has had no medical issues whatsoever other than a few colds....even those she doesn't get much of.
If it makes you feel better, by all means go to the ER. OR call your doctor and tell him/her what you said aobut being wetter and your afraid their may be a leak. Tell them you want to come in and be swabbed to make sure it's not AF and to have an AFI to ease your mind. As long as you insurance will cover it or your willing to pay for it, they shouldn't refuse. Remember this is YOUR baby and YOUR care....they are there for YOU not the other way around.

Definitely see the doctor asap. I also had gushing type of fluid coming out of me and I too thought it was pee... but it turns out it was amniotic fluid. Unfortunately because it had pretty much all leaked out and I was only 16 weeks pregnant, the doctor had to terminate my pregnancy.
My co-worker/ friend was put on bedrest with a slow leak and was told that she had to make it three weeks so that the baby would be viable. She made it two and was forced to deliver her baby on mother's day one week before he was viable. She had such an infection and hadn't questioned the doctor enough about what was going on. I strongly encourage you to go to the doctor and keep on top of things. Good luck and keep us posted.
