Ok ladies all this time and I still don't know what ur luteal phase is or how I know how long it is. I was doing a calendar to see when ill O this month bc I'm not gonna use OPKs and depending on my luteal phase I might be outta town when I do. :(
Your luteal phase is the time from ovulation to your next period. For most women it's 14 days long, but it can vary on any given month. Yours could be shorter or longer. If you can figure out when you ovulate, you can start counting and see what you get each month.
It could be...it may have just been a month where you ovulated later...some people do have a luteal phase defect, meaning it's either too long or too short to be able to get pregnant. How do you know for sure when you ovulated? If you're not already doing it I suggest charting your temp.
I tried temping last month and I'd temp everyday withing a half an hour and it jumped all over the place. Itd be high then low. It was nuts! Last month I did opk. That's how ik when I od. I just promised DB that I wouldn't waste $ all the time. Oh well guess I just hope I O before I leave.
Only thing I can suggest is to try temping again...I don't know what OPK you used, but the ones I used all said that you would ovulate within 24-72 hours. One to three days can make a big difference.
Maybe you did have a shorter one this month, or you do in general...keep charting it for a couple months, and if it looks like it's short call your OB and ask about getting seen and if they can do anything to help. I don't know how long you've been TTC but if you have something like a LP defect, it's gonna make it harder.
