MRI of head and possibly pregnant

MRI of head and possibly pregnant

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone would know if having an MRI on your head could effect a baby in the early stages of pregnancy? Such as implantation? I had an MRI on Moday and today I had what looks exactly like implantation bleeding and is happening in the right time in my cycle and would make sense, but its too early for me to know whether I'm pregnant or not, but I can't help but worry if I am did I just harm the embryo? Any thoughts or knowledge on this subject would be appriciated. Thanks

If your pregnant an MRI wouldn't harm the baby. Of course any amount of radiation to an unborn child is a risk but if its just an MRI of your head and not a full body scan or even one of your lower limbs you should be in the clear.

I just had an MRI of my neck and back and will be having ivf implantation. I spoke with them about any possible problems and I was assured there would not be any problems at all. They don't like to do mri in first trimester but that is it. I'm sure you are fine and if you had implantation AFTER the mri you are fine. Best of luck!!!
