Measuring big

Measuring big

So my whole pregnancy I have been measuring a lot bigger than what I truly am. For example when I was 22 weeks I measured 28 weeks. When I was 30 weeks I measured 33 weeks. Now I am 35 weeks and measuring 38 weeks. It is really common to measure alot bigger than what I am, or could I be farther along than they think. But at the same time when I was 18 weeks and found out I was having a girl they said I was 17 weeks and told me the size of the baby then. So I just dont get it. I know ultra sounds are pretty accurate, but could she have just been small at that time, and now measuring what she truly is. Because at my regular doctor she still indicated me being 18 weeks after that ultra sound that said I was 17 weeks. I am just wondering if I could of had a period and was already pregnant. Only because they go off your last period. Plus they say I got pregnant the last weeks of October, but I remember during Thanksgiving which is the 3rd week of November I was already having pregnancy symptoms like feeling sick, stomache, nauseas, there is no way I could of only been 3 weeks pregnant and feeling those symptoms. Someone please help!

Everyone's body and shape is different. Most doctors aren't measuring fundal height anymore because it can vary greatly from woman to woman. The AVERAGE woman will measure exactly on time, but remember there's always those exceptional people who measure a little smaller or a little bigger. Nothing wrong with you.

Jeeze woman, ain't NOTHIN to worry about hunny. =]

With my daughter, I measured exactly 2 weeks smaller with her until I hit around my 20th week, and then she just EXPLODED!
I measured sometimes up to 3 weeks bigger than I should have.

Some babies just grow more rapidly and more slowly than others.
By the time my due date came around, my stomach literally stuck out a foot and a half infront of me, and if you don't believe me you can check my pictures.
My daughter was 10lbs 13oz. 3 ounces shy of 11 pounds.

And again, I'm 18 weeks pregnant today, and I'm measuring a week or so smaller.
I get my first ultrasound done tomorrow and she said it'll probably redo my due date, but we're still gunna go with November 23rd because of my last period and the fact that I'm probably doing the same exact thing I did with my daughter.

There's nothing wrong with measuring bigger or smaller than you should be. As long as the baby's heartbeat is good and it's state of being is well, then there's nothing to worry about.

Maybe you're just gunna have a big baby like I did?
Does big babies run in your family?
Cuz it does in mine.
Me and all my siblings were big babies.
Me n my 16 year old sister were a little over 9lbs.
My brother Timmy was 11.7lbs.
My sister autumn was almost 9 lbs and she was 5 weeks premature!!
And my youngest brother Damien was 10.6lbs.

So if it runs in your family it may very well be that you're just gunna have a big baby. =]

At all of my u/s's my daughter measured fine.  Then, at my 31 week u/s, she measured 2-4 weeks ahead.  My stomach measurements however were always fine.  Well the doctor told me she was just going to be a big baby.  I had her a week early and she was 8lbs 9oz, so if I would have gone full term she would have been 9lbs.  The u/s's are only an estimate though, some people argue that they aren't worht anything, while others they are true predictors.

With my son I always measured ahead 2-3 weeks and had him 2 weeks early. But I knew for sure when I ovulated (or within a day or 2) but he was just a big boy! 8lbs 4oz.
With this pregnancy, at my first u/s I measured almost 2 weeks ahead of my LMP...which was very confusing. Then a month later I had another u/s and baby was 2 weeks behind. I was scared, but I guess baby hadn't gone through a big growth spurt yet. At my 24 week appt. I was measuring 2 weeks ahead again. It's not an exact science, but it's normal to measure a little behind or ahead.
