Medicine for congestion, sore throat 23 weeks pregnant

Medicine for congestion, sore throat 23 weeks pregnant

im so sick of being sick. ive had a sore throat, small cough and a stuffy nose for over a week. ive gone through a whole bottle of robittusin because it's on my "safe list" from my doctor but its not helping. ive also been taking Benadryl Allergy because its also on the list but its not working too well either. i just need something to hold me off until i can call my doctor on monday and make an appointment. any advice on what to take to releive these symtoms (symptoms). its causing me sleep problems :(. its hard enough sleeping without a cold! just any advice on good medicine thats safe during pregnancy please!

on my doctors safe list
tylenol, ocean nose spray, benadryl, plain sudafed, actifed, claritin, plain robittusin

i really dont want to go out and buy a bunch of medicine thats not going to work. so any experience would help.

Hmm the only thing my doctors have told me its safe is tylenol....but when I was sick i took it and didn't have any effect so I had to "man it up"  and just rest a lot and drink hot water with grated ginger and honey. Try it, it's good for your throat and stuffy nose! I was sick for almost 2 weeks so I know how you are feeling. Good luck!

Robatussin (sp?) is something my dr had me take. :)  Hot tea also, Steam (let your shower run for a few min as hot as possible, then just stick your head in away from the water and breathe!   It helps for baby after baby's born if he or she gets a cold because they get stuffy noses and there aren't any real decongestant meds to give him.

When I was sick with my last cold, I begged the pharmacist to let me take something (I had bad congestion and severe sinus pain). They first directed me to those saline nose sprays that don't do much of ANYTHIING....and then I asked for something else.  They let me take a daytime sinus medication - I bought the generic version.
