Medicine

I know I can easily call my doctor's office and ask but I was wondering I am 25 weeks pregnant what is safe to take for a minor cold. I feel that I am getting sick my nose is stuffy and runny and my ear is sore and I wanna take something before it gets too bad. Thanks ladies!

Benadryl is really the only safe "cold" medicine, and its more for allergies than cold's.  I've heard good things about the nettie pot though with clearing out congestion.

I would try tylenol or like bluegenie said, the neti pot.
I took benadryl when my colds were really bad, I was told by my doc I could take that.

I have to disagree with the tylenol cold above.  Tylenol is safe during pregnancy, but the cold medications in tylenol cold are not.

So no tylenol cold just the regular tylenol or extra strength? I have never heard of the Neti Pot I will have to look into that.

All I took is regular tylenol during theb days and tylenol PM at night. I never asked about Benadryl, but I was told that the tylenol cold & flu wasn't proven to be safe to ingest during pregnancy, and that I should only take the PM when I absolutely NEEDED to.. I hope you feel better soon!

I was told any Tylenol cold product was fine but they didn't work so I used dayquil and Nyquil. Benadryl is also safe. Tylenol PM is a combo of benadryl and Tylenol. You can use a Nettipot aka sinus rinse as long as your sinuses are not bleeding and you don't have any nasal blockage where the solution would get stuck in your sinuses. But every dr is different and have different "approved" medications. I went to the pharmacy and said im pregnant these are my symptoms please point me in the right direction and they did :). Feel better!

Thanks ladies! I think I might do what SunWhorshiper said and go to the pharmacy and see what they point me with. Seems like Benadryl is recommended by all so maybe I will try that. The weather is changing here so I think that has alot to do with it. I live in Texas
