Minocycline and Pregnancy

Dear Doctor,
I just found out that I am 5 1/7 weeks pregnant and I/ve been taking Minocycline for my acne for a long time. As soon as I found out a week ago I stop the use imediately. Please can you tell me if that will have any side efects on my baby? And what can i do to avoid that to happen?

It's good that you stopped using it immediately. Chances are there are probably not any affects on the baby yet because you are very early on. There is nothing you can do to "prevent" anything that's already occured,  but please rest assured knowing that the chances are quite slim, and you shouldn't feel guilty over something you had no control over. The very best thing you can do for your baby is to stay positive, get plenty of rest, & keep eating and living healthy. Best wishes to you, and congratulations!! :)
