Molar Pregnancy Again???

by olderthanmyage, Jul 17, 2009 08:49PM
3 years ago I had a molar pregnancy which is the rarest kind. It would have been triplets so I guess the babies started to grow and the molar pregnancy took over. I went to the ER 3 times for spotting and they kept insisting everything was fine until the last one and I had to have a D&C the following day. I had a healthy pregnancy a year later and now have a 15 month old daughter. I just found out that I am expecting again. I am 5 weeks 6 days. I started the same type of spotting and went to the ER and they said everything was fine and my Hcg level was 1500 and to repeat it in 48 hours. I had it done and my Hcg jumped to 20,000. Can this be normal. My obgyn is in the office and her partner just set me up for another ultrasound on Wednesday. Has this ever happened to anyone? What is the chance that something as rare as a molar pregnancy would happen again?

Unless it is multiples it is possible it is molar. Lab errors can happen, so I think getting a sonogram would be the best way to go. With HCG at 20,000 you should see something!
