Morning Sickness... I Friggin HATE Morning Sickness... and it's not even at it's worst yet!!

UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!! Well I'm just over 7 weeks today, and The last 3 or 4 days I've had nausea off and on. So bad that I was dryheaving in the drivethru waiting for dinner a few nights ago.. the first 2 nights it hit around 8pm.. the last 2 days it's hit at different times, Morning and evening usually... I'm not able to eat much because I feel nauseaus. I'm keeping my fluid intake up, and antinausea meds aren't doing the job right now (generic over the counter approved by dr)

With TJ I had Hyperemesis starting at 8weeks and lasting 25 weeks total... At first it was so bad I could only eat 1x a day or not even that some days because I'd get sick around 5-10x a day. I had to drink insure drinks. then near the end it was only 1 or 2x a day or just gagging alot.   I've not been watching my diet and eating anything I can because when I was careful about diet with TJ I wound up not gaining much weight early on at all, and not giving him enough nutrients so he took it out of my body.

I'm using all the tricks, which incidentally didn't work with TJ either, Prenatals at night (I've tried several brands and I always am made to feel sick) Antinausea meds, Unisom at night, Small meals/snacks, Ginger (HATE ginger candy of any kind... fresh kind is ok but doesn't settle my stomach very well), loose pants/tops......
Srry, I just feel the need to rant. It could be a couple weeks before I see the high risk dr. I called today to finish up intake, and found out the referral went in today. I'm gonna call up my insurance in the A.M. and ask that they put a rush on approval.  I'm sitting here right now trying my best not to heave...

But if I cough once (nausea makes me  cough) it's gonna set me off and I'll get really sick for a while.... I DONT WANT TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bleh.

Sorry you're sick...I wasn't that bad, I just couldn't eat hardly anything the first four months when I was pregnant with Elijah. I had no appetite and everything looked disgusting to me. I was a big chicken eater, and while I was pregnant I couldn't eat it at all.

I'm sorry this stage just suc*s! I had the worst morning sickness it made my first trimester drag on forever. Can you get a script for zofran? With the zofran I had 6 hours at a time where I didn't puke. I didn't feel awesome and have a big appetite or anything, but I could get in two small meals and not vomit.

Good luck and remember before you know it you'll be past this and into your second trimester!

NicMom~ When I was preggo with TJ my dr (family dr not OB) wouldn't give me Zofran saying it was class C???

But when I see my high risk OB I'm definitely asking. By the way.. for me in my pregnancies this stage doesn't end... Even in my 2nd Tri when I'm feeling better physically I still throw up repeatedly. bleh.

ugh sorry to hear that. Def ask about the zofran it was a life saver for me in a big way. I have a friend who is a pharmacist and he said it was only class C because it's taboo to test drugs out on pregnant women in the US, but that they had tested it in other countries without any side effects. It was first created for people going through Chemo. I wish I would have had it when I had Chemo years ago. I have heard of some other people on this forum where even that didn't work, but I think that was only really severe cases of morning sickness.

ahh, ok! Well I'll definitely be asking about it as soon as I see my high risk Dr. Right now no other doctor will do ANYTHING for me. no meds for nausea or anything. What I was given with TJ didn't work. I forgot the name of it.

that's no good that you are pukey!  did you try flintstone vitamins?  that was all my friend could take when she was pregnant.  she was so sick, she had to be hospitalized and hooked up to rehydrate her.  she couldn't even drink water without vomiting.

I'm glad i'm not the only one. 6w 4d and morning sickness has hit with a vegeance. Dry heaving at the smell of anything fried, spicy (pretty much anything with a smell!!). I have to force myself to eat something bland thro it but luckily once i have eaten something i feel a bit better. I'm getting myself through it with the thought that baby must be doing okay in there to be making me feel like this.
PS U have great taste in baby names!!-my 10 month old son is also called TJ

If it is hypermesis then the chances are ....whatever they told you to take over the counter isn't going to work. There isn't any "over the counter" anti nausea drugs. Only drugs for motion sickness which works on the inner ear and are mostly antihistimines. I have heard that the motion sick wristbands that are based on accupressure are pretty effective for some people. If you haven't tried them, it can't hurt. When it comes to cat C drugs they weigh the risk to the baby. If you are sick enough that you aren't getting enough nutrition and are dehydrated then they will see the risk as less with the cat C drug. There are many available. Zofran works wonders for some but if it doesn't work for you, ask for something else. There is also compazine and phenegran. The ph.. will make you really tired so that one is a last resort unless you don't mind being knocked out. Good Luck!
