Muscle Spasms???

I am 36 weeks pregnant, and lately I have been getting these sudden muscle spasms in my upper leg near my bikini line area. I will just be sitting or standing, not moving at all, and they just hit me. It almost makes me drop to the floor. They hurt really bad. It doesnt sound like a pregnancy symptom, but it has never happened before I was pregnant. Has anyone experienced this, or heard of this. With everything that comes with being pregnant, I wouldnt doubt it to just be another symptom...let me know :)

I forgot to add, It feels like someone is grabbing my muscle, and pulling and stretching it really hard! Dont know if that is even a muscle spasm, but dont know what else to call it :)

I used to get muscle spasms in my calf when I was pregnant. Someone told me that you get them when you are low in potassium. I increased my banana intake after that and I didn't get them as often. It might be something different than I had but maybe if you get more potassium it will stop for you as well.
