Natural birth after 2 c sections

Natural birth after 2 c sections

Good afternoon! I am currently pregnant with my 4th baby (only 6wks) and i need to go in for a cervical suture (routine for me, had 2 so far!) and i was wondering how many women have had a natural birth after 2 c sections? A bit of history for you, i gave birth to my son, alexander, naturally at 23wks, he was prem and passed away (bless him), i then fell pregnant with my daughter, I had a cervical suture put inplace but needed a c section due to bleeding and breach, i then fell pregnant ith my second son, once again, cervical suture and c section. I would just love to have the suture removed at 36wks and be left alone! what are the chances?!!??!

What have the doctors said? I know most wont due VBAC especially after 2 c-sections and you seem to have a history of complications during pregnancy. I think the priority is healthy mom and baby and from what you have said a c-section seems the safest option.

I had a c-section with my first child, I have since had VBACS with the rest.  I know the difficulty I have had with my last two finding a doctor who would not force me into a repeate c-section.  Even this time after having had 4 VBACS I had a hard time finding one.  Like feather2e said, many doctors do not like to do vbacs especially after multiple cesareans, however it is NOT unheard of.  There are a lot of factors involved in determining the risks.  What types of incisions were made, was one made on top of another or in a different area.  How long was it between the 2 surgeries and how long has it been since the last one.  You have to discuss all of this with your particular doctor.  There is a good website that can give you tons of information on VBACs, even after multiple cesareans.  Google "ican-online" it's the international cesarean awareness network.

I have booked an appointment with the specialist up the hospital for next tuesday. I havent got a clue what he will say! but whatever he says i wont argue, like you said losingmymindGA there are a lot of risk factors. Thanks for the network info hun! I think i am just sick of being poked and prodded! lol haha but you would do anything for your baba. thanks again x

My first I had preterm emergency sectio - second I had the suture and it was removed at 35 weeks - he never budged - they told me he would be around 10lbs.. we had a scheduled c-section.  I have a suture now - 29 weeks - asked if I could try VBAC and my dr and hosptial will not try.... I am bummed - however, my stitch is pulled in 3 of the 4 incision points and I am 2cm dialated... I wonder if I do go fast like I did with my first - 3 contractions went from 3cm to 8cm and I am home (not the hospital as I was with her) maybe the baby would be far enough along to go VBAC.  Otherwise they said they will not pull what is left of the stitch until we are in the operating room.  Good Luck
