you are pregnant for 2 weeks before your period but may not show on a test till the day your period is due or after

Women usually ovulated 12-14 days before their periods.  So if you have a normal 28 day cycle, then you could have ovulated anywhere from May 11-14.  If you fell pregnant during that time, then it would 9-14 days for the egg to fertilize.  The pregnancy tests pick the pregnancy horomone called hCG that is produced when you are pregnant.  So you could test now, but it would be better to test the day after your missed period or if you want to be even more accurate then test a week after your missed period.  The pains you have could be from period symptoms, but could also be due to pregnancy.  You should speak with a doctor if the pains get any worse and your period doesn't arrive.
