Hi Guys. I was hoping to get a few opinions on the name Benjamin or Gabriel.
We are having a baby boy in 6 weeks and like both names. He will have a hungarian middle name (husband is from Europe), which will depend on his first name. He will have very dark brown hair, hazel or brown eyes, and olive skin. If there are any stereotypes to either name or any name teasing associated with them, please let us know. We are stuck! Thank you for the input.
our preferred name is alexander, and gabriel is actually "my" pick for first name!
it was jayson, but i've been searching....
here's what i found for meaning of each, as i'm wanting something that coincides!!! (alexander means protector of mankind ;-))
Benjamin:Gender:Boy Origin:Hebrew Meaning:Son of my right hand
.....
Gabriel: Gender:Boy/Girl Origin:Hebrew Meaning:God is my Might....
IDK if this helps, but I like Benjamin more! my other favorites are:
Kane-Tribute,Warrior, Little Battler, Beautiful, Man
Liam-Unwavering Protector(I think it's an Awesome fit to "Alexander" Meaning!)
Jason(Jayson)-Healer
Noah-Peaceful, Long-Lived, Comforter
Evan(Celtic Origin)-Young Warrior
Nicholas(Biblical Meaning)-1 of 7 Equal Men of 1st Cent. Congregation, Saint of Greece, Russia, Children, Scholars, and Sailors(I love the Sailor part, b/c Chris was a Sailor for 8 years, so was "Alex's" Godfather, and all of their friends are also!!!)
Phoenix(this was more of an "Oh Wow!" kind of name)-Mythological Arabian Bird Symbolozing Immortality.....as I said i'm unsure if this is even an option, but i thought it was very neat, yet had a "Nice" meaning to it ya know?!
We're naming our little boy Jacob Gabriel. We've always liked the name Jacob but it's so darned popular so we'll be calling him "Gabe". He will also have the same initials as my husband "JGN".
Of the above names I like Evan, Phoenix and Nicholas <--- we would have considered that but it would sound really goofy with our last name "Nicholas Nicholson" LOL
I like Benjamin better of the two...just my opinion...I do like Evan like someone else said...a nice name you don't hear too often...at least in my neck
I like Benjamin too, out of those two. My next pregnancy I have the name piced out of Jakob Alexander, after my grandfather and my hubbys grandfather. My first born son is Chadwin Tanner. After his dad, a name made up out of the blue, they are the only two Chadwins I have ever heard of.
Chitten: I love those names! Farren is so different and I also like Ava.
Ava Rose. I quite like Amalie too but i wanna wait and see her before deciding. Mum said i was Megan all through her pregnancy but when i was bron i just looked like a Melissa, strange but im trying to avoid referring to her with any names until shes here incase i feel the same.
i love benjamin! it's such a strong name. it would have been my "boy" choice, but i named my car ben so i thought that would be confusing...hehe... we ended up choosing
lincoln for a boy, but we are having a girl so that will be a name on hold for next round :) benjamin is a great name that isn't too trendy and you will never get tired of hearing
What middle names are you thinking of? My husband is hungarian; my daughter Portuguese and Hungarian.
I usually pick first names based on middle names.
For a boy, we have Isaiah Michael (Hubby's name) Phoenix picked out, but my FIL wants us to do Isaiah Mishka Phoenix, or Isaiah Lutzi Phoenix. FIL is Lutzi but is called Leslie.
DH is actually Lutzi Mishka, but we call him Michael, rather than Leslie or Leslie Michael.
Thank you so much for your input! We still haven't decided, but at least we got some good opinions =) I really appreciate it. If we have another boy in the future, I guess naming him will be easier =)
The middle name will be my husband's first or middle name (I won't repeat it here as I know everyone will think it quite unusual!)
