The pee test for a UTI is NOT accurate in pregnancy unless they use a catheter to get the urine according to my OB. He treats symptoms of UTI as a UTI and gives antibiotics. But every OB is different. Make sure you are drinking a ton of water and when you wipe always wipe front to back. Also after you have sex you should urinate. Are you taking baths more or using a different soap bc sometimes that can do it. I'd see your OB and I'd also suggest no sex until you see your dr so you don't make things worse. Feel better

I know I have a UTI, I had one before and I have the same symptoms. I can't believe it came out negative. I am so worried because I don't want to loose my baby. I have been doing everything right. I don't know where to go from here? Do I bug the heck out of the Doctor? or do I just wait?

Yes!! Insist on the antibiotics! A UTI is esay to recognize and oh so painful.  I don't think your little one is at risk, neccessarily, but you need some relief from your pain!

I do know that sometimes the rapid test will show negative, but the culture will more than likely show positive...do you know if they sent it off for culture?? start drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice..I would call the dr. and demand another test, and tell him you want some antibiotics...I am sorry you are in pain, especially while pregnant...I really hope your dr will listen to you

If your OB won't treat it than see your general practitioner if they won't than go to another dr or keep bugging your OB or change OB's. I'm sorry you have to fight this for antibiotics. A UTI put baby at risk but it isn't fair to you to have to suffer. UTi's are horribly painful and uncomfortable. Drink LOTS of water keep your feet up the best you can and no sex. Hopefully you can get a dr to treat it asap. Just keep bugging them until they treat it or find a new dr. Feel better!!
