No corpus luteum

I am 5 weeks pregnant, and had an ultrasound. Everything looked normal, but they didn't see a corpus luteum. I had my blood work done and my progesterone levels were normal. Can I continue to have a normal pregnancy without the corpus luteum? My doctor's office is NOT being helpful or reassuring and simply is telling me to come back in two weeks.  I want to know if I should be testing my progesterone within the next two weeks. What if it goes down between and now and then?

It could be that they simply cannot see it via the sonogram.

I would definitely request that they keep checking your progesterone. Remember progesterone can fluctuate as well. If it is below 20 then request supplements.
