No yolk sac visualized at 5weeks and 5 days pregnant.

Please Help Me! I am Joy from Philippines.  I just want to ask i had my ultrasound yesterday but it showed that their is a gestational sac but the no yolk sac visualized.  i am so afraid that the baby hasn't develop yet i am 6 weeks pregnant so my OBGYN doctor told me that i will be back after 2weeks to have another ultrasound. it is possible that at 6weeks the baby hasn't develop yet?

It says the yolk sac appears around week 5. It could be possible that you are not 6 weeks but you are 4 or 5 weeks and that is why you don't see anything. You could be sooner than you thought! I hope that reassures you and I hope your next ultrasound goes well.

i hope all goes well my first apt is jan 2nd im 7 weeks now and sometimes when i read the board i get so afraid something will be wrong with my baby please keep us updated

Sometimes, women ovulate later than the "normal" day 14, and in those cases, the size of the embryo will be smaller than the gestational age...just because the egg was fertilized later than the doctors assume. I only saw a gestational sac at 5 week, 4 days. The yolk, fetal pole and heartbeat was detected the following week at 6 weeks, 4 days. Good luck to you!

I too had an u/s at 5 wks 3 days and we were only able to see the gestational sac.  I go back jan. 3rd to see if we can see more.

Hi guys, Thank you for helping me out ill keep you updated when ill take another u/s this coming january 2, 2008. i am so afraid my doctor said that if we still cant find the yolk sac it means miscarriage. i just hope and pray that my baby will be okey.

Did they see anything else? When I went in for my first u/s I found out there was only a gestational sac and nothing else. It turned out that I had a blighted ovum...so the baby never developed at all. The sac grew, but stopped at 6mm...I miscarried that week. I still had all the pregnancy symptoms due to my hormones but the baby never actually developed. Could they hear a heartbeat or anything to reassure you? I wish you luck! I hope your baby is okay!
