you dont ovulate 14 days after your period your period arrives around 14 days after you ovulate so if you have a 28 day cycle you ovulate on day 14 if you have a 35 day cycle you ovulate day 21 and so on you count the first day of your period as cycle day 1

You used the first day of your period so got period 2.2.08 therefore you would have ovulation on 16.02.08 implantation can happen around 7 days latter so around 23.02.2008. Go to the website www.askdramy as this website gives you a fantastic breakdown of when you are possibly fertile right up to when you can take a blood test and pregnancy test to when the baby will be due. Be aware though that not everyone ovulates 14 days after their period i have noticed since my m/c that i may be ovulating straight after my period and then again on day 14 and their are some other women on here reporting this too.

So it is possible to ovulate right after your period?  I was wondering if this was possible, because I always thought that this may be a possibility.  I always read that you are usually really 'dry' after your period, but I'm usually really 'wet.'  Maybe I was ovulating?

by DollChina, Mar 11, 2008 09:31AM
It just depends how long your cycle is.  Ovulation occurs 14 days prior to your af starts.

I recently suffered a M/C and i have noticed that i have the raw egg white CM around 2-3 days after my period so im guessing i could be ovulating. I also have Lutien Cysts on my ovarys and my sides always hurt when i am ovulating and right after my period when i get the CM i get pains in my sides so i think i could be ovulating even though i have never checked this through an ovulation kit. I then have the same hing happen around day 14 after my period. I have heard that in some cases you can ovulate more than once a month. I too like you am very wet just after my period and am not dry as i am supposed to be!

Ovulation doesn't necessarily occur 14 days prior to AF.  Everyone's cycle varies.  I have a 28 day cycle, and for me, ovulation usually occurs 13 days before my period.  Which means my luteal phase is a little shorter than some.  I would buy an ovulation kit.

by michelle148, Mar 11, 2008 10:46AM
Yes i think i will as im really not sure when im ovulating but i do thnk its more than once a month at the moment!

The best way to track ovulation is tracking your BBT.

by Atia_Julii, Mar 11, 2008 10:51AM
The BBT didn't work well for me.  BBT will tell you that you just ovulated, but it won't let you know when you're about to ovulate.  I guess everyone has different method's of what works best for them.  For me, the ovulation predictor kit works really well.  It's a little spendy, but it definitely pinpoints ovulation.

by michelle148, Mar 11, 2008 10:51AM
Yes i think im going to have to get an ovulation kit as i am unsure of when i really am ovualting, like i say i think its quite soone after AF has been and gone but the only way to know for sure is to start monitoring myself

Good luck Michelle148. :-D

Thanks. Its weird today i woke up and my boobs are killing me and my nipples are very sore and tender even with a t-shirt on its rubbing against them and causing some discomfort! WEIRD??!!!!

by DollChina, Mar 11, 2008 11:03AM
You have to track it a few months to find your own pattern.  You can also identify lutheal phrase problem by BBT if you got one.  BBT along with OPK and watching your fertile signs work the best.  Good luck.

I track my fertile signs and thats why im pretty sure i ovulate twice in one month as i get CM like raw egg white 2-3 days after AF has visited. I have just been looking into this on the net and they have done an experiment on this and 6 out of 68 women ovulated twice in one month and it was recorded that this happened right after AF and then again around 11-14 days after AF!!!!!

Well my last period was 02-24-08 and it lasted about 3 days and then I was really wet for 2 or 3 days after.  Maybe I ovulated, maybe not.  Yesterday (3/10/08) I had a really sharp pain in my left side twice and my boobs are little more tender than usual, my face broke out (pimples), and I've been kinda gassy.  Could I be ovulating or about to?  My body is soooo funny!

I found this great website (and of course I can't remember the name of it!) but it was talking about the different types of cm.  We all have cm all the time, just the texture changes.  I know for me personally, right after af, I have thick, white colored cm.  So, it is normal to be wet after af.  It's all about the texture.  If it's stickyish, your probably not ovulating, if it's eggwhite feeling, and can stretch, than you probably are.

If you'are trying to get pregs I strongly reccomend the book, Taking charge of Your Fertility. After ayear of trying (I have unpredictable cycles) I got pregs the 1st month. Everyone is different and you just have to figure out your own cycle. Ovulation occurs between approx. 11-16 days before you get AF. This book teaches you to track other signs like your cervical mucus, body signs, and your temps. This is especially helpful for unpredicatble cycles. Good Luck!

Last time I had unprotective sex was feb 16 08. If I was ovulating around Feb 16-19, can I still get pregnant? Because I thought you only can get pregnant 3 days after ovulation.

Remwmber egg can only live no longer than 24 hours but sperm can live up to 5 days in good fertile fluid.  So it's better to have sex right before, during and shortly after O.  Your window is pretty small.  Most doc recommend having sex every other day after af so get pregger.  I agree with the above poster.  Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a GREAT book.  I got it after my MC in Jan 06 and found out I was pregger with my 1st in March.  I was tracking BBT, watching cm, and using OPK.
