PROGESTERONE LEVELS!!

PROGESTERONE LEVELS!!

So June 8th I had lab work done... My hcg level came back at 50.3, they also did a progesterone level due to a miscarrage (miscarriage) i had a feb. So that came back at 23.1. Now June 10th My Hcg is 160 so it more then tripled which is a good sign. my progesterone was 20.2 though. I am worried about the drop. Other problem is that the progesterone was done unofficially. My friend works in the lab and ran it for me because of how devistated i was the last time i m/c. I am starting to worry now. I know it is still good at 20, but i dont understand the dip? Should I be concerned. I mean i have progesterone pills at home from when i miscarried last time, but i dont know what to do. I dont want to lose this pregnancy due to progesterone again. I miscarried at like 7 weeks last time. I am suppose to be 6wks on friday. Any advise or anyone have this happen and what was the outcome?

My dr said anything around 20 was good.  It will fluctuate normally day to day.  So the median may be for you at 23 and 20 may be the lowest it goes.  I wouldnt be concerned at your level.  Just be sure if you start to spot you go in right away and get on progesterone.  OR if you are concerned then maybe ask your Dr to draw it once more, to see if it is "normal" fluctuation

Thank you! i am going to see if i can get it drawn again on friday to see if it is steadily decreasing of if it is just fluctuating. I am just so nervous. i mean my first pregnancy my fiance and i were so excited and everything and it ended so bad. now i am pregnant again and it is like we want to be excited but are so afraid it will end in a m/c again. i am hoping it is just normal fluctuations and that i am completely overreacting!

Yah, my doctor said as long as it's over 18, then it is fine.  If you are concerned, though, tell your doctor and i'm sure he/she will put you on a progesterone supplement just to put your mind at ease.  My doctor did and mine was never under 28.  Yours sounds okay to me.  Good luck to you!

I  actually still have my prescription for progesterone supp. They put me on it last time right before i miscarried. I talked to the nurse today, she said she was going to talk to the doctor about my labs and my concerns and see what she says. Then call me back if she thinks i will need more blood work done. i am hoping i am just paranoid from my last m/c

Progesterone fluctuates throughout the day. It wouldn't hurt to go on the progesterone supplements to ease your mind. I did that this current pregnancy and I'm now 21 weeks pregnant. I don't know if I actually NEEDED them or not, but after 2 miscarriages I wasn't going to play games with the blood lab.

My progesterone levels are good.. they have been so far in the 20's ranging from 22 to 27.3.. so that is the good update from me.
