Please Help

My wife came down with what looked like a sinus infection.
-Bad Cough
-Congestion
-Headache

Then the sinus symptoms went away but she was left with a very bad cough. Then a few days later she developed ear pain and the congestion came back.

The doctor told us because she is pregnant that she can only take things like tylenol cold. Her ears arent showing any fluid like ear infections tend to do...so im wondering if it could be something else. Since her sinus problem came back im thinking maybe an allergy or something like that. Any advice would be great.

If she has a sinus infection, she should probably take an antibiotic.  She can take certain antibiotics even though she is pregnant.  If she is this sick and it's not going away on its own, this is probably what she needs.  I have 5 kids and have taken antibiotics at one time or another with all of them.  They are all fine; no problems whatsoever.  Women who are pregnant are more likely already to get yeast infections though.  Antibiotics will increase the risk of that even more unfortunately.
