Pregnancy right after misscarriage??? Am I???

by karry07, Dec 27, 2007 12:26AM
I had a misscarriage on November 14th which was followed by a D&C. My boyfriend and I have been trying to have a baby so we kept trying unprotected. I took quite a few test after the misscarriage that said "not pregnant" but now they are coming up pregnant??? It says on the test box to wait 8 weeks after birht or misscarriage. Could I be pregnant? I haven't even gotten a period nor have I bled since the D&C.

After a D&C, your HCG levels plummet very fast as there is nothing there to send HCG and hormones throughout your body.

If you took tests after the D&C that said NOT PREGNANT, then that meant your HCG levels were down and that the docs got everything out.

Many women become pregnant before they get a period after a miscarriage.

I would take those tests to mean YOU ARE PREGNANT!!! Congratulations! A positive is a positive. Your HCG can't go back up after a negative following a D&C unless you are truly pregnant again.

I got pregnant 2 months after my miscarriage (I only had one period after the m/c) and my baby is now upstairs, asleep in her crib at this very moment.

Sounds like you are pregnant to me! If you got a negative and then a positive than it is a new pregnancy! I got pregnant again 6 weeks after my miscarriage and I've heard of people getting pregnant within 2 weeks of their miscarriage! :)
