Prenatal Vitamins and nausea

I have been taking the Prenatal Vitamins as per the directions on the bottle and taking it with food.  I was taking it during the day but they were making me too nauseated.  So, I started taking them at night with food and they are still making me sick.  So, I was wondering if anyone has ever used the liquid prenatal vitamins.  I have read that they are gentle on the stomach but wasn't sure if they work as good or if they have chewable prenatal vitamins.  It has been 11 years since I had my last baby and they did not have anything else but pill form so need some suggestions.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Prenatal vitamins make me sick and the doctor goes through prescription after prescription tryig to find a good one for me but the only one I found that doesn't make me sick are some over the counter ones. I keep forgetting to take them though and have no idea where they are to tell you the name but I'll try to find them and get back to you on that. I never even heard of the liquid.

Melissa----i had the same problem as meg above, didn't matter which ones i tried, they all seemed to make me nauseous, until i tried the Target brand generics, haven't been nauseous since.  When i was on others though, my best bet was to take them literally right before going to bed.  just slept through the nausea.  

one bonus to the target ones is that they use vitamin A as beta carotene, so it's not vitamin A overkill---a lot of them these days use preformed, so it was cool to find a good one that wasn't astronomically priced :-)

Thank you both for the suggestions.  I will have to try the target brand and see how I do.  I actually do take them right before going to sleep but have been waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I am going to get sick.  So, any suggestions are definitely welcomed.  

I also have been using my juicer alot more.  So, I am hoping that between the veges and fruits that I am using in the juicer that they have been providing me with alot of the nutrients that I need for me and the baby.  Thanks again to you both.

Part of that is just a necessary evil of pregnancy, and women have been fighting it for centuries ;-)  One thing that may help is to eat a hefty protein snack right before bed, and since salt settles the stomach, a great choice is some beef jerky.  Protein takes longer to digest, and so can keep your stomach not-empty for longer stretches.

The name of those vitamins are OneSource. I got them at Wal-Mart. They're in a white bottle with pink label. They have a lot of extra iron than prescribed prenatal vitamins too which is great for me because I'm anemic and lots of women become anemic while pregnant. You should try those.

I too used to get sick after taking my prenatal vitamins.  I find that if I eat something about an hour or so before I go to bed & I take my pills when I go to bed & then laydown & do not move for 15mins then I am ok & do not get nausea!

You can take your prenatal vitamins, but just ask your doctor for pills to help with the nousea. My doctor prescribed some pill  and they really help a lot. They are ondansetron/zofran.

Yeah, zofran is an anti-emetic, they give it to cancer patients going through chemo, etc.  It's VERY expensive, and because of the type of plan I have, i had to pay too much for it until i got through my deductible---i said "no thanks."  

I decided i'd rather take one otc cheapie than two expensive Rx's---even without the cost, why take another med to help me cope with another med---know what i mean?  There's honestly nothing significantly special about a prescribed prenatal unless you have special conditions/circumstances that require a *really* special prenatal.
