Provera and positive pregnancy test

I have had problems with my cycle and even had a pregnancy that resulted in a miscarriage in June 2007. I had to have a d&c in July and my cycle was still all over the chart. My first day of my last known period was 10/16/2007. My obgyn perscribed provera (10 days) and clomid (100mg) to take days 3-7. I took a pregnancy test on 11/14/2007 (with negative results) and began provera on 11/15/2007. I took my last provera tablet on Saturday, 11/24. No mensus or anything. Started having symptoms of pregnancy on Thursday 11/29. Woke up Saturday morning 12/1 and took test. It was positive. Does provera give false positives? If not what risk could I potentially have been exposed to? Is there a chance for miscarriage? I have a lot of questions about sustaining a pregnancy after taking this medication.
