RectoVaginal Fistula and Pregnancy

by OliveYou, Feb 01, 2008 09:51AM
I've had a total of 11 surgeries and  have and ileo-anal anastomosis, or J-pouch, and I've also had a gluteal thigh flap (similar to the graciloplasty surgery but just a different muscle) taken to repair a Rectovaginal fistula. My question is this: I know a C-section would be required to deliver but can the actual pregnancy and the baby growing cause problems and potential damage to the repairs I've had done for the R/V fistula?
Thank you.
