This question is actually for a friend of mine. She has gone to the hospital and the doctors said that she has a ruptured cyst. Her white blood count is fine which means no infection...but she is now running 103 feverAllergic rhinitis Coccidioidomycosis Febrile seizures Fever Fever blister Fever blisters and canker sores Herpes labialis (oral herpes simplex) Histoplasmosis Malaria Rheumatic fever Scarlet fever! She has pains in her upper right belly area....it shoots down to the lower corner, than shoots back up. She also has pains in her back as well. She couldn't get out of bed yesterday either. Not sure if any of you ladies on here have ever experienced a ruptured cyst....but if you have, what are the symptoms and what should be done?? How will you know for sure if it's your appendixAppendectomy? Could the doctor miss something like that? She will most likely be going to another hospital tonight for another opinion since she feels it's something more serious. right now she is just on pain meds...something like morphineMorphine Morphine sulfate Morphine sulfate sr. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! =) I thought I would ask you ladies since I trust you all on here and always get good advice. Thanks!
She is going to the doc today to see what thet say! Since she was already told it was a ruptured cyst, we are really thrown off since she has the fever. Today she has been cold, then breaking out into a sweat. strange! I'll let you know what happens. Right now it seems to be a mystery. Thanks for the info!
Hello, I am sorry o hear that, hope all goes well. I am 13wks pregnant with a 8.5cm cyst on my right ovary and due for surgery next week, for removal. They want to remove it before it ruptures or twists. I will be risking miscarriage, but i dont have much of a choice. anyhow she is not alone and i pray all goes well.
When my first cyst ruptured I was working. I just remember it was immediate pain. It was like someone was stabbing me in my side. I remember getting sick and throwing up. I do not remember a fever though. I went to the doc the next day and they did another ultrasound and the biggest cyst was gone. It was VERY painful. I could not even walk to the car because it was hurting. My hubby was at work with me (we worked together for 4 years...this was BEFORE we even dated) carried me to the car and my aunt took me home (it was a family owned restaurant.) I'll be praying everything goes well....
they will be able to tell from an ultrasound!
sometimes the ruptured cyst will go away and drain on its ow, other times if it was larger or had more fluid in it they will need to romove it or at least drain it via laproscopy
good luck!
Keep us posted in your friend. I hope she gets some answers and feels better soon!
