SAVIOUR STITCH AT 19+5. WILL IT WORK?? HELP!

i am now 20 weeks pregnant with a much wanted baby boy, as i lost my son last year, he was born at 25+4 weeks and lived for 30 minutes. the reason for my pre-term labour was because i had an infection in my uterus (choriomnitits) also unknown to me and dr's i had an incompetent cervix, no stitch was put in. i recently had my 20weeks anomoly scan and cervical scan to find my cervix had shortned to 2.6cm from 4.8cm two weeks ago. my consultant decided to put in a saviour stitch, it went better than planned as my cervix hadnt shortned any more due to a few days bedrest. i was just wondering has anyone ever been in this situation or similar? will it work?? as i am really worried with me only being 20 weeks that i'll give birth before 24 weeks and i'll loose my baby.
i am going out of my mind here, i am still on bedrest trying to do what ever it takes to keep this baby in for as long as possible! the stitch was put in 48 hours ago now....please advise me!!??? xxx

I'm sorry for your prior loss/

The cerclage ('savior stitch) works very well, just take it easy and be on bedrest. I've seen MANY women make it FULL term because of the stitch and following dr.'s orders.

it sounds like you should be just fine!

The cerclage should work, at least long enough until your baby is able to be born and survive. Definitely, definitely continue a strict bedrest regimen. That will help keep your little one in there longer!

Thank you for the replies, its so reassuring to know other positive stories.
Also does anyone know if there are any symptoms that should follow the stitch, ive had no pain (which is good) the odd few spots of blood streaked discharge were only in first 24 hours (which is also good) but yesterday i seemed to have a more sticky, stringy, thick discharge, it was very slightly blood streaked. i was just worrying that this was the mucus plug/show coming away from i my cervix?? is this normal, t seems to have calmed down now but im worrying about everything! im still on bedrest, and not left the house or lifted a finger since the Cerclage was done 3 days ago.
I am determined to stay positive and hopeful and hopefully have a lovely newbaby by the end of the year! xx

You should be fine. Only very rare cases of women going into labor before 34wks with a cerclage. I had mine placed at 14wks due to loss last year. I'm happy 30+3 wks! My cerclage will be coming out at 36wks. Good Luck . If you made it this far you should be just fine. Pray for me as well!
