Spit up or Throw up? Difference? Help plz!!!

by Shawndell, Nov 04, 2009 08:28PM
What's the difference between spit up and throw up??? My daughter is 6 weeks old. She's been on her formula since 3 weeks. She just started spitting up recently. I know spit up is normal...but how do I know when its not??? After I feed her, she'll burp, then 15-30 mins later formula comes up. I feel she might choke! I plan on calling her dr. soon, but wanted to check in with you all first. How do I know if it's the formula or something. I appreciate all answers.

Spitup comes up and usually just dribbles down their face. Vomiting is defined as spitup that is projected away from their body. There's force behind the vomit.

There can be a scary amount of spitup and it can concern you. Don't be concerned! Even though it seems like a ton it's alright.
